Mostly nice, but one persistent annoyance

The app looks nice, and the content is excellent. However, reading long articles is challenging, because the app won’t remember where I am if I don’t finish reading an article in one sitting. It’s like reading the paper magazine, but with someone who closes the magazine and takes out your bookmark every time you put the issue down. Why can’t the app just resume in the state that it was in before switching? (It does behave like this if the switch is brief, but will revert to the home page or a blank screen with longer breaks.)

Amazing stories it’s my go to news/editorial source but does the app really not have any search functionality??? Maybe I’m missing something but I couldn’t find it anywhere
Screen goes blank while reading

The most recent version seems to have introduced a new bug. I have noticed that the screen will go blank upon reaching a certain point in an article. The spot where it goes blank will vary from article to article but it’s always the same for a given article. Some articles, on the other hand, give no problem. I don’t know if it’s because of an approaching ad or something else. Sometimes it’s so bad that the only fix is to abandon the app and read the article via a web browser. I have also seen it on the iPad version.
