Otoo is a streamlined, one-screen groovebox designed for frictionless music production.
Built around an innovative free-form step sequencer, Otoo breaks away from rigid grids, allowing you to place, drag, and stack notes freely across independent rows. Whether you are sketching out ideas using the native built-in engine and sampler or hosting your favorite third-party AUv3 plugins, Otoo delivers a distraction-free environment that prioritizes speed and musical flow.
On iPhone, the interface dynamically scales to give your AUv3 instruments a near-fullscreen home, paired with a compact, highly responsive keyboard for immediate creation on the go.
Otoo also includes Otoo MIDI, an AUv3 MIDI processor version of the app. It brings Otoo’s pattern-based sequencing into compatible AUv3 hosts, where playback follows the host timeline and instruments are routed as MIDI Out destinations instead of audio instruments.

I watched the JAKOB HAQ video on this app about a month ago and was really curious about it. Just picked it up and instantly made a track. So much fun. The Rompler it’s such a great way just to get instant instantly I just watched the video on the sound test room about this and it gave me some more ideas. My only request would be to have an easy way to export stems. As of now, I’m just muting everything and exporting one track at a time. watching the sound test room now and noticing that this can do live stuff too that would be super cool if the tape recorder do the stems to be recorded separately. But honestly this little universe is going to be so much fun for me. And iPhone too! What a steal.

An extremely accessible groovebox — the perfect introduction to sequencing for new musicians, and a fun and capable toy for everyone else. Another hit from BeepStreet!
Loving it BUT …

Audio export, length problem! My original BPM for a 4 x Part audio export, was 105 BPM.I imported the audio file to have that 16 beat, 4 part audio sync exactly as 4 bars, inside of AUM, with any other program requiring perfect sync. The playback of the file is the entire sample, along with another 10-15% of the beginning, before the Loop occurs.ThIs exact same problem happens at 120 BPM.Yes, all of the tagging options for, the Loop, have been tried and did not make any difference.Different and the same BPM values have been used in each of the programs as well. No matter. The 4 part audio sample is still created with that extra amount of audio.2 alternate solutions until this issue is resolved:- creating the entire song, with Otoø. (The main thing that I _LOVE_ about Otoø is how quickly you’re able to scratch out basic ideas, within it alone!)- importing the exported sample into an audio editor to perfectly slice off the extra audio error. Now … how many users may be comfortable with doing that? 🤨 (I’m fine but I have a lot if experience there.)
Otoo MIDI is here: a new AUv3 MIDI processor extension for using Otoo’s sequencer inside compatible hosts.
