- Choose the night mode light color Under Night Mode in the Settings tab, "Light color" now lets you choose warm bulb or green. Green recreates the green gauge lighting of the Mexican-built Beetle.Switching the color does not change the light level, how far the light reaches, or the brightness of the gauges.

- Night mode now lights up the speed numerals The bulb light in night mode now reaches a little further toward the centre of the dial. Until now it mostly lit the outer rim; the speed numerals now take on a soft bulb-warm glow too. The colour at the rim and the overall brightness are unchanged, so numerals and needle stay as easy to read as before.

- Choose how fuel economy is shown In the Settings tab, "Economy" now lets you choose L/100km or UK mpg in addition to km/L (mi/gal when distance is in miles) — the "litres per 100 km" figure common in Europe, and mpg in British imperial gallons. For fuel volume, UK gal (imperial gallons) joins L and US gal. Changing these settings only changes the display; your past records are never rewritten. - Fixed measurement stopping mid-drive In a few situations, measurement could stop while driving. We've improved this. • With Bluetooth Link, a phone or LINE call or voice input could be mistaken for leaving the car and end the measurement. Measurement is no longer ended while the car is moving. • On iOS 27, using another app such as YouTube while driving could stop measurement without any notification. This has been improved. • After passing through areas with weak GPS reception (under elevated roads, in tunnels), the speed could stay stuck at 0 or at full scale for a long time. This has been improved.

- Automatic backup Choose where to save, and the app now saves a backup once a day on the days you open it, keeping the most recent 14. The location is a folder outside the app. Pick somewhere like iCloud Drive and your records survive deleting the app or moving to a new phone. Set it under "Backup" in the Settings tab. Years of trip logs and maintenance history are not something you can recreate later. This keeps a way back without you having to think about it. - Find a gas station Tap the FUEL mark at the top right of the Drive screen and your own map app opens with the nearest gas stations. The same mark blinks orange when fuel is running low, so it is right there at the moment you want it. Vintage cars have small tanks, and it is not always easy to judge how far you can still go. This replaces closing the app, opening a map and typing a search with a single tap. You can choose which map app opens in Settings. Note: backups go only to the location you choose — nothing is ever sent to our servers. The search itself is carried out by your map app.

Fixed the app not launching on iOS 27 On devices updated to iOS 27, the app closed immediately after opening. This is fixed. We are sorry for the trouble. Your records are untouched. Once you update, everything is there as before.

Torque Specs Keep the tightening figures for your car in the app. No more digging the manual out every time you need to know what a particular fastener takes. Entries are grouped by area and fastener, so engine, suspension and brakes each read as a set. Bolt size, which manual the figure came from, and notes on tightening sequence or stages sit alongside each value. Switch the display between N·m, kgf·m and lb-ft. On a vintage car it is common for the factory manual to be in kgf·m, the workshop manual in lb-ft and the wrench in your hand in N·m. Whatever unit you type stays exactly as the manual wrote it, and only the display converts, so the app and the book always agree. Fixed for gallon users Fuel amounts were not being converted when the fuel unit was set to gallons, so fill-ups were recorded at roughly a quarter of the real amount and fuel economy came out far too good. This is now fixed, and your past fill-ups are read correctly as well. Other improvements - Fixed fuel records sometimes not being restored from a backup

- Better battery life Two changes in this version help your phone last longer on a drive. The first is a tidy-up of what happens while the screen is off. Location updates that were no longer being used have been stopped. The distance you record is unchanged. The second is a new power saver view. Press "PW SAVER" on the Drive screen and the gauge disappears, leaving the screen black. Your speed and distance stay on the info bar below, so nothing you need while driving is lost. On phones with an OLED screen this cuts the screen's power use considerably, because black pixels emit no light. We hope it helps on longer trips, or when charging isn't easy. "Back to normal view" in the middle of the screen brings the gauge back whenever you like.

Night Mode After dark the gauges glow softly, the way a vintage instrument cluster looks under a small bulb. The numbers and the needle keep their brightness, so everything stays just as easy to read. Choose between Automatic and Set times. Automatic works out sunset and sunrise from your GPS position, so it needs no connection and keeps up on its own wherever and whenever you drive. It comes on about twenty minutes before sunset, when the light begins to go flat. Three light levels are available: Low, Normal and High.

Bluetooth Link Connect to your car's Bluetooth audio and the Drive screen opens. When you leave and the connection drops, measuring ends automatically and you're told how far you drove. There's no extra hardware to buy — the car audio you already have, or a Bluetooth adapter in the cigarette socket, does the job. On iPhone, a one-time setup in the built-in Shortcuts app is required (iOS 16 or later). See the user guide for details. Measuring still starts with the START button. Starting stays in your hands, so tracking never begins unnoticed while your phone sits in a bag and drains the battery.
