GammaBoost® lets you explore the potential of 40 Hz light and sound stimulation in the fight against Alzheimer's, using your smartphone's built-in flash LED and speaker.
The app was developed in response to animal studies by the National Institute on Aging and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which found that exposure to light flashing at this “gamma” brainwave frequency can diminish the beta-amyloid plaques associated with Alzheimer's, suggesting such stimulation may help prevent or lessen the effects of Alzheimer's disease and memory loss. Other studies have indicated that an audio tone at this same frequency might also be effective. More recent research has also investigated 40 Hz stimulation in connection with cognitive impairment associated with chemotherapy.
