The Macmillan and BFW Terms of Use have been updated with significant changes. Summary of updates: - Shift to “AI Tools” terminology: Replaced “Student Tools” with broader “AI Tools” language across the document to reflect expanded AI/ML functionality. - Expanded definition of Services: Clarified that Services include a wider range of tools, features, and AI-enabled products. - New AI section for instructors: Added a dedicated section outlining how instructors can use AI tools for teaching and evaluation. - Enhanced AI student provisions: Broadened scope to include pilot programs, third-party tools, and clarified that AI outputs are included and may be inaccurate or biased. - Instructor compliance requirement: Added language requiring instructors to follow institutional policies (academic integrity, data privacy, etc.) when using AI tools. - Updated Usage Rules: Included AI-specific requirements, including compliance with applicable laws when deploying AI tools. - Clarified separation of resources: Instructor Resources now explicitly exclude AI tools to distinguish traditional materials from AI features. - Minor legal and editorial updates: Includes small wording clarifications, punctuation fixes, and consistency improvements. - Entity update: Removed Skyfactor from the Macmillan Learning entity list.
