◆ JOMO TURNS 4! ◆ Believe it or not, our little baby has grown up. 4 years ago, we decided to drop everything to help people reduce their screen time. We hit the “Publish” button on the App Store for the very first time, and just like that, Jomo was available worldwide (we won’t lie, our stress levels were through the roof). Over the past 4 years, the app has come a long way. Across 117 releases, we’ve added plenty of features, changed the interface (a lot), and welcomed the Mac app to the family! So, to celebrate Jomo’s birthday, we’ve packed a few more surprises into this update. We hope you’ll love them. ◆ SAY HELLO TO JOMO ON IPAD (AND IPHONE DUO) ◆ iPad fans have probably noticed: Jomo on iPad was… honestly, pretty ugly. So we’re very proud to introduce the official iPad version of Jomo (FINALLY). We’ve redesigned the interface and navigation to feel right at home on iPad. Full screen, split screen, windowed mode, portrait or landscape… we’ve tested EVERYTHING. You can use your keyboard and Apple Pencil just like in any other app. But that’s not all! We’ve also adapted the interface and navigation to the new iPhone Duo, so users can enjoy a great experience there too. ◆ A NEW APP SELECTION SCREEN ◆ We’ve redesigned the screen where you choose what to block. On iOS, you’ll still use Apple’s picker, but a new screen will now appear just before it. It’s easier to use and lets you quickly see what’s blocked, remove items, and find the apps you regularly block. The more you use Jomo, the more relevant the suggestions become. ◆ SMALL IMPROVEMENTS AND BUG FIXES ◆ - Improved duration pickers: a small pop-up now replaces the full-screen view. It’s simpler, more modern, and makes it much easier to keep your bearings. - New duration picker for quick sessions: we’ve replaced that awful control you used to set a session’s duration. It’s simpler and, honestly, much nicer to use. - Improved emoji picker: smarter and more enjoyable to use! We’ve fine-tuned how it works and polished its appearance. Finding your favorite emoji should be easier now. - Time zone bug fixes: several issues could affect how your rules’ schedules were displayed. To all our travelers: Jomo should now do a better job of keeping up with your adventures. - Fixed the layout of rule cards, which could sometimes appear misaligned. - Fixed custom button labels on the blocking screen, which had stopped updating. **And that’s a wrap!** Over the past few months, we’ve also been working on other features that will arrive in the coming weeks. We can’t wait to share them with you! We’re already looking ahead to 2027, which is just around the corner. We poured a lot of energy into this redesign. We asked ourselves countless questions about the new look, and after months of work: here it is! And we can’t wait to hear what you think. ◆ NEW BREAK EXERCISES ◆ Yes, a new design is great, but what really matters are the new exercises. We know some of you have been around for a while, and just like us, you may have grown a little tired of the old ones… But no worries—the team’s got you covered. **Mirror** Force yourself to look straight into your own eyes before unlocking an app. I swear, after 30 seconds the awkwardness really sets in. Honestly, you might start wondering if Instagram is even worth it. **Recopy** You can now recopy personalized messages instead of a random code. We’ve written some default ones (and we put our heart into them). But if you don’t like them, no worries—you can write your own. **Take a photo (AI)** Are you a procrastinator? Same here. Except now, things just got tougher. Add “Take a Photo” as an exercise to unlock your apps, and let AI analyze the image to confirm you actually did the action. Doing the dishes, finishing your meal, tidying your living room, petting your cat, touching grass… so many possibilities! ◆ BREAKS IN THE DYNAMIC ISLAND ◆ Nope, you’re not dreaming. We finally did it (two years after launch): your break timer now shows up in the Dynamic Island—stop, I might cry tears of joy. From now on, you can see how much time you’ve got left with just a quick glance. And 20 seconds before the end, you’ll get a gentle reminder! ◆ JOMO JEST TERAZ DOSTEPNE PO POLSKU ◆ This version adds the Polish translation to Jomo. Huge thanks to Michal for reviewing it. Honestly, you might start wondering if Instagram is even worth it. **Recopy** You can now recopy personalized messages instead of a random code. We’ve written some default ones (and we put our heart into them). But if you don’t like them, no worries—you can write your own. **Take a photo (AI)** Are you a procrastinator? Same here. Except now, things just got tougher. Add “Take a Photo” as an exercise to unlock your apps, and let AI analyze the image to confirm you actually did the action. Doing the dishes, finishing your meal, tidying your living room, petting your cat, touching grass… so many possibilities! ◆ BREAKS IN THE DYNAMIC ISLAND ◆ Nope, you’re not dreaming. We finally did it (two years after launch): your break timer now shows up in the Dynamic Island—stop, I might cry tears of joy. From now on, you can see how much time you’ve got left with just a quick glance. And 20 seconds before the end, you’ll get a gentle reminder! ◆ JOMO JEST TERAZ DOSTEPNE PO POLSKU ◆ This version adds the Polish translation to Jomo. Huge thanks to Michal for reviewing it. We’re also working hard to fix Screen Time issues, reporting them to Apple (and crossing our fingers they’ll be addressed). We’re wrapping up a few projects on the iPhone version, and we promise the Mac app will FINALLY become our top priority in the coming weeks. It’s starting to feel neglected—poor baby.
