I am a frequent user of this platform and usually find the booking process convenient. However, I recently encountered a technical glitch that resulted in a ticket being booked for the wrong language. I followed the standard booking steps: I filtered for my preferred language, selected the movie, picked my seats, and paid. It was only after the transaction was complete that I saw the language had defaulted to something else. My experience with your support team was even more disappointing: • Unrealistic Demands: When I escalated the issue, I was asked to provide a screenshot of the error. Nobody takes screenshots of their screen during a routine booking process; it’s an absurd request. • Deflective Response: Instead of addressing why my explicit language selection was overridden by the system, I was told I should have checked the final confirmation page more carefully. Why should I have to re-verify a selection the system already confirmed in the previous step? • Lack of Accountability: I didn't even lead with a request for a refund or cancellation. I simply wanted to know why my selection was changed. The dismissive nature of this interaction has been so frustrating that I am now actively looking for alternative platforms. When a loyal user points out a system flaw, they expect a solution or an explanation, not a lecture on how to double-check your UI. Finally the same error is rectified within 12 hours without accepting there was one. Since your platform has taught me to 'expect the unexpected' from your interface, you should expect the same regarding my continued loyalty.

What a Mess! BookMyShow’s Ticketing System is a Disaster!

I’m absolutely fed up with how BookMyShow handled the Coldplay ticket sales. This has been one of the most frustrating experiences ever. First of all, the queue system was a total joke. For the first two shows, I was stuck behind 200,000+ people, and then for the third show, it was 800,000! Seriously, who are these people? Who’s actually buying these tickets? I waited patiently in the queue only to find out that the tickets were sold out by the time I finally got through. How is it possible that so many people were ahead within seconds of tickets going live? The platform clearly wasn’t built to handle this demand. It seems like bots and scalpers had a field day while real fans like me were left with nothing. What’s even more infuriating is that now all the tickets are being resold on platforms like Viagogo for 10 times the original price! How is this allowed to happen? BookMyShow did nothing to stop this, and their so-called “queue system” clearly didn’t work. It feels like the platform just handed over tickets to resellers and left the real fans hanging. Honestly, I don’t even think BookMyShow tried to put any anti-bot measures in place. If you can’t control the system or protect real customers, maybe you shouldn’t be hosting sales for such high-demand events at all. Fix your system, stop this madness, and ensure tickets go to real fans. This was a total mess.

The app firstly charges an extravagant fee for any bookings and creates new scammy features to dupe customers. Especially the share feature on the ticket which doesn’t allow you to cancel the ticket after. I wanted to cancel my wrong date ticket and they won’t let me cancel coz I apparently shared the ticket after booking. Firstly it’s their app feature but they would blame it on the cinema and secondly when I was sharing the ticket to my friend it never gave any pop up saying you can’t cancel after you share ticket. I didn’t split the money of the ticket on the app but simply shared the information. Their terms and conditions are also in the tiniest font in the lightest of grey font. If there was transparency with customer they would have put it more clearly for a customer to make an informed choice. They know that the very person booking may make a mistake but the moment another set of eyes see it they would realise and then want to modify/cancel. They are taking advantage of that. Offcourse they had to remove the cancel option after sharing to not help people rectify their mistake. I realised only a minute after booking but now they won’t refund even being within the cancellation limit with this new ridiculous feature. Please don’t use this app, instead pay the direct cinema through their own app or walk in that’s even cheaper. Worst app ever!!!

While BookMyShow has generally been a reliable platform, my recent experience with the Cherry Blossom Music Festival was a major letdown. The event details provided were misleading, and the quality of the festival fell far below what was promised.Coming all the way from Kerala, I had high hopes for this festival, but instead, I was left feeling completely let down and frustrated by the poor organization and mismanagement. The artists arrived late, performances were significantly shorter than expected, and there were several logistical issues, including an inconvenient parking setup and lack of proper accommodations.As a platform promoting such events, BookMyShow must ensure greater accountability from event organizers. It is essential to curate events more carefully and provide accurate information to avoid misleading attendees.I would strongly advise anyone from outside Meghalaya to think twice before spending their money and time on this festival unless significant improvements are made in the future.Overall, the Cherry Blossom Music Festival was an utter failure, and I am seriously considering taking legal action against both the event organizers and BookMyShow for the false promises and poor management. I hope BookMyShow takes this feedback seriously to prevent such disappointing experiences for its users in the future
