This is the only VPN which always work under any circumstances in china. Whenever there is an escalation in blocks, the express vpn team works and updates the app to ensure that it works again ....this is usually done within 2-3 days of a blockade. I have been using it for a year now and it works as long as you keep it updated and wait for a couple of days every time it stops working.

I’m an EXPRESSVPN customer for over 5 years. And this is by far the worst update. As I understand it, EXPRESSVPN took a conscious management decision that by default it’ll always connect to the fastest server. Unfortunately, the fastest server for me, happens to be in UAE and not my country. So, every time the vpn gets disconnected (due to my various automations), when it connects, it doesn’t connect to the last connected location but to the fastest. This causes many of my applications to not work as they need me to be geo-located in my country. Which means, I have to manually disconnect and reconnect to my location. And the entire cycle repeats, if one of my automations run, like using certain apps that needs me to stay out of vpn, then when I close, my automations runs again and it connects to vpn. But where? To their fastest server. Why is EXPRESSVPN deciding what my default server should be? Shouldn’t that decision be with the user? Worst update in my 5 years as a customer. Worst management decision!!!!

Fraud alert - Pathetic customer service and irresponsible behaviour

I generally never write reviews but their Pathetic customer service forced me to. I have subscribed for the 1 year plan, they had deduced money 2 times. They refunded one portion but deactivated the account and didnt consider my second payment saying that money is refunded once. Then i applied for refund for second payment in apple store because they were not activating my account. (I had mailed them multiple times before that to activate my account) I got reply from apple that i am not eligible for refund, then i contacted expressvpn to activate my account because i am not getting refund, they said once you apply for refund account service is deactivated and you have to take new subscriptipn. So i didnt get refund nor i got the subscription. Its a complete fraud

I subscribed to ExpressVPN while in China, but despite repeated attempts, the service never worked. I contacted customer support multiple times and followed every troubleshooting step and configuration they suggested, including trying different servers and combinations. Unfortunately, none of these worked.When I asked about canceling the subscription and requesting a refund, I was advised to wait and try again while their team “looked for a solution.” Acting in good faith and trusting their assurance, I renewed the subscription for an additional month—yet the service still did not work at all.After this, I formally requested a refund, only to be told that it was against policy. This is extremely disappointing. A customer should not be penalized for reporting a non-working service, especially after fully cooperating with support and being encouraged to continue the subscription.Paying for a service that never functioned, despite extensive troubleshooting and direct guidance from customer support, is unacceptable. I expected accountability and a fair resolution, not a rigid policy used to deny a legitimate refund request.
