v1.1.0 — BinoView. Put the binos up on every fire mission. Tap OBSERVE on the mission map and you are behind 7x binoculars from your OP, looking at real terrain. M22-style mil reticle. Pan the sector, tilt, cycle 7x / 12x, lase the target for range. The optics are honest. The reticle ticks are true mils, the terrain is rendered at the same scale, and targets are sized by mil relation. A tank at 700 m is ten mils long, not a cartoon. Read the width off the reticle, apply W x 1000 / mils, then lase to check yourself. That is the drill. Targets sit on the ground where they belong. From an elevated OP the road, treeline, or hill at the target's range is below the skyline, and that is where the binos open. Short rounds land short. Overs land over. You will see it. Effects on target. When rounds score, vehicles and bunkers flash, then burn with a smoke column. Personnel go down. Dust hangs at the impact. Misses splash where they land, so a correction reads the way it does through real glass. Eleven scenarios each have their own photoreal panorama composed for the mission: the MSR for the convoy, the wood line for the treeline fights, the crossroads for the light armor, the river for the crossing, moonlight for the night patrol. Also in this release: dependency updates for the current SDK. Built by a 13F with 20 years AD. Standards-only. Doctrine governs.

v1.0.7 — Two new Fire Support Planning classes. The Planning pillar (unlocked at SSG with all four Advanced classes complete) now has four classes instead of two. P3 — EFSTs & THE SCHEME OF FIRES. The Essential Fire Support Task — what makes a fires task "essential," how TPME (Task / Purpose / Method / Effect) structures it, and how EFSTs sequence into a scheme of fires the FO executes. 6 lessons, 6 quiz items, 4 recall cards, 2 applies-or-not drills, and a chip composer drill where you assemble a complete EFST in TPME order. P4 — INTEGRATING FIRES WITH MANEUVER. Fires nested in the maneuver scheme. The four essential fires tasks (enable / isolate / screen / suppress). SOSRA — the deliberate breach sequence, all five letters: Suppress, Obscure, Secure, Reduce, Assault. The FO's critical lift/shift call during Assault. Trigger lines (phase / terrain / time / NAI). Phased fires across an operation (preparation / shaping / decisive / sustaining). Worked example: deliberate breach of a wire obstacle at a notional EE platoon position, walked through every SOSRA element with the FO's exact calls. 6 lessons, 7 quiz items, 4 recall cards, 2 applies drills, and a chip composer where you assemble SOSRA in doctrinal order. Both classes are FM 3-09 grounded with verbatim chapter / paragraph citations in the lesson text. Order-strict matching enforces TPME on P3's chip drill and S-O-S-R-A on P4's chip drill — answer out of order and you're wrong, just like the doctrine. Built by a 13F with 20 years AD. Standards-only — doctrine governs.

v1.0.6 — Direct-to-server bug reporting. We were losing TestFlight feedback screenshots to Apple's delivery delays and to iPhones that didn't have Mail configured. v1.0.6 routes Report a Problem straight to our own server instead of through mailto: / TestFlight. WHAT CHANGED: • Settings → Report a Problem opens a proper sheet — type what happened, attach a screenshot from your camera roll (iOS screenshot: volume+power), toggle whether to include the local diagnostic log, hit SEND. • Sent reports get a confirmation Alert ("Sent. Report received.") so you know it landed. No more wondering if the email actually went through. • If you tap SEND while offline, the report is queued to SQLite and retries on the next launch with a connection. Up to 5 retries before it gives up. • Every submission is gated on a verified bearer token, capped at 4MB per screenshot, and validated server-side before it ever touches the inbox. WHY: The prior mailto: flow depended on the tester having a working Mail app + Apple's TestFlight pipeline doing its job. We had a 4-day silence in mid-cycle where neither delivered. This bypass eliminates both points of failure. Built by a 13F with 20 years AD. Standards-only — doctrine governs.

v1.0.5 — Two fixes from SME field testing of v1.0.4. 1. PROGRESSION PERSISTENCE — XP, rank, and consecutive-days streak no longer reset on app update. A v1.0.4 user reported their PFC/SPC/SGT progression and streak disappearing after the TestFlight update. Root cause was a SQLite load failure being silently swallowed and overwritten by the next mutation. Fixed by: • Distinguishing "first install" (safe to initialize) from "load failed" (don't overwrite real data). • Adding a backup row that rotates on every save — load tries primary, falls back to backup on parse error. • Gating all mutator writes on hydrationSucceeded so a transient SQLite hiccup at startup can't clobber existing progress. • Surfacing all persistence errors via Settings → Report a Problem so we see future incidents. 2. FIRE MISSIONS — CFF INPUT NO LONGER COVERS THE MAP — The text input on iOS now stays compact (one-line minimum, three-line max) so the mission map remains visible while you type a call for fire. The huge multi-paragraph placeholder that used to inflate the input is now behind a "?" reference button — tap it only when you want the doctrine cheatsheet (Polar / Grid / Shift / FFE / IS / FPF / linear / munitions examples). Built by a 13F with 20 years AD. Standards-only — doctrine governs.

v1.0.4 — FIST Cert Prep doctrine pass. Every Cert Prep question is now ATP-grounded: • 298 questions cross-checked against the source publications — ATP 3-09.30 Observed Fires, ATP 3-09.32 JFIRE, FM 3-09 Field Artillery Operations, JP 3-09 Joint Fire Support, JP 3-09.3 Close Air Support. • Every explainer carries a verbatim doctrine quote with chapter citation — no AI-paraphrased answers. • 57 wrong-answer corrections. Examples: "Fire support system" → "The Fires Cell" (ATP 3-09.30 1-3). "Tailoring" → "Task-organizing" (FM 3-09 4-33). "Survey" → "Mensuration" (3-6, citing JP 3-60). "17.78" → "17.8" (3-22). 120mm 4-tube FPF: 140m × 25m → 300m × 75m (Table 1-1). • Official JFS MQF test composition: SL1 test = 50 SL1 questions. SL2 test = 50 SL1 + 25 SL2 = 75 questions. SL3 test = 50 SL1 + 25 SL2 + 25 SL3 = 100 questions. Practice mode scales the same composition to 20. • 13 sequence-sensitive questions now enforce doctrinal order — the 15 subsequent corrections (ATP 3-09.30 5-24), SLOCTOP and FAPARCA memory aids, the 9-line CAS brief, CFF elements, methods of engagement, etc. • 35 questions whose answers couldn't be located in any available source publication were quarantined rather than served with guessed content. Coming back when the Nov 2023 ATP 3-09.32 is reachable. Built by a 13F with 20 years AD. Standards-only — doctrine governs. When the doctrine and the popular convention disagree, doctrine wins.

Version 1.0.3 is a polish-and-performance pass. FIXED — GETTING BACK TO THE MAIN MENU • You can now return to the Operations Board from every section — Basic Training, Fire Missions, ROC-V, and the FO tools. Previously a few screens had no back control and you had to close the app to get out. Every screen now has a clear back button. IMPROVED — CONSISTENT LOOK • The topographic brand background now runs consistently behind every screen, top to bottom — tools, classes, references, and more — for a cleaner, unified feel. IMPROVED — SMALLER, FASTER • ROC-V threat photos are dramatically more efficient — smaller app download and faster image loading. • General stability and polish. Thanks for training with Steel Rain. Keep the rounds on target.

Version 1.0.1 is a full quality pass on the app plus a new senior training track. If you trained on the first release, this is the version you want. NEW — FIRE SUPPORT PLANNING TRACK Go beyond calling individual missions and into planning and integrating fires. • D3A Targeting Cycle — Decide, Detect, Deliver, Assess, and exactly where the observer plugs into each phase, from detection to honest battle damage assessment. • High-Payoff Targets & the Attack Guidance Matrix — high-value vs. high-payoff targets, the high-payoff target list, target selection standards, and how to read an attack guidance matrix. • Unlocks as you rank up, so it's waiting once you've proven the fundamentals. FIXES & IMPROVEMENTS • Bootcamp content — reviewed and corrected lesson content and answer logic across the classes; fixed bad prompts, unclear steps, and grading edge cases. • Call for Fire input (iOS) — the keyboard now has a clear DONE / SEND bar, so your mission always sends cleanly instead of getting trapped behind the keyboard. • Stability — numerous reliability fixes so sessions don't stall or drop progress. • Accuracy — drill corrections so what you're taught lines up with doctrine. • Progression — rank and unlock flow cleaned up so finishing classes advances you correctly, all the way to the new senior track. Thanks for training with Steel Rain. Keep the rounds on target.
