A simple and classic game, turned into a festival of pain. Constant adverts (pay to remove them for 3 hours!) and additional interstitials that take ages to complete and require user interaction to make them go away. Endless stupid side quests, coins, tiles, XP and other things that have no purpose at all other than to frustrate you and drain any enjoyment out of this once lovely game. But worse than all this, the appalling data harvesting and tracking. Check the Privacy notes on the App Store. It tries to take everything. It even tries to read your clipboard. Why? Just a terrible app, designed to hoover up your private data all the time, while rinsing you for money, while ruining your fun. An abomination and a discredit to the developer.

Used to enjoy scrabble a few years ago, so thought I’d rekindle the fun with this app. Sadly, it seems to have gone backwards in its development and isn’t quite the fun that it used to be.It seems this is all about making money now for the developers, and fair enough. But you are unwittingly decreasing the level of fun and excitement that many people who grew up playing scrabble would be well aware of. I’d describe this app as a large collection of adverts with intertwined with some games of scrabble to be quite honest. Unless you are willing to pay, or even if you want to make full use to the features, you must be prepared to watch advertisement after advertisement, often advertising the same bloody thing. Needless to say, this totally detracts from the game itself and gives a poor impression. So long scrabble. The game I once knew is no more, and some money grabbing , over complicated, unsubtle AI generated blurb sits in its place. If you’ve read this far, take the time to find fun somewhere else that has a soul to it.
Obnoxious, glitchy, garbage app

It’s really hard to isolate the worst aspect of this app. Is it the fact that when I challenge my wife to a game, or vice versa, we aren’t properly prompted and at times the challenge doesn’t even show up on our screens — while there is no issue with having rammed down our throats innumerable challenges from “Santa” or the “Easter Bunny” or “Jack O’lantern” or any number of gimmicky garbage fake accounts? I fully expect to be challenged by “Thomas Jefferson” this July. Or is it the garish colors? Or the asinine “prizes”? And on and on. I don’t even mind the ads, although I wish they were a little less insipid. All I want is to have a friendly game of Scrabble with my wife occasionally, without a bunch of nonsense in an app clearly designed by a gang of 11-year-old sugar addicts.
