I’ve had one of the most frustrating experiences with Marriott’s customer service phone system.First of all, international calls are charged, which is unbelievable in 2025 — almost no major company still charges customers just to reach support.Second, the AI system at the beginning is terrible. It keeps asking “Why are you calling?” and never understands your answer. You have to repeat yourself three or four times before it finally connects you to a real person.I called twice to change a guest name on a booking. The first time, after a long verification, the agent said it was done — but when my friend checked in, the name was still wrong. I had to call again and redo everything. The second time, it took 15 minutes for the agent to simply change one name. Fifteen minutes for a basic task! The whole process is slow, outdated, and exhausting. I honestly expected better from Marriott. It’s much faster to just use Expedia or Booking than to deal with this broken system.I really hope Marriott can fix their AI system and make international support free, because right now, it’s far below the level of service this brand is supposed to represent.
