Layout Elements. On Layout → Arrange, drop a bar onto a custom layout: recent emoji, punctuation, clipboard chips, numbers, a cursor pad, or tool shortcuts that look like a mini tools grid. Put it between keys, beside space, wherever keys go. Key background is optional, so strips can float. Paste as a key. The layout editor can make a key that pastes whatever is on the clipboard. Needs Full Access. Dutch and Lithuanian. Full dictionary, prediction, and autocorrect. Lithuanian gets its own QWERTY and all nine special letters on long-press. Arabic. The layout Apple's keyboard uses is in now, eleven keys across the top two rows, next to the PC arrangement Clink already had. Arabic-Indic numerals (١٢٣) are optional on the 123 page. Number and symbol pages type Arabic punctuation (؟ ، ؛ ٪). Everyday spoken words stop getting "corrected," and two-letter words are no longer silently swapped. Four click packs. Tactile Brown, Clicky Blue, Typewriter, and Marble under Feel → Sound. Each rotates a few short clicks so typing doesn't sound like one loop. Needs Full Access; System Click still works without it. "id" vs "I'd" and "shed" vs "she'd" are judged by the sentence. A glide finishes the word in front of it the same way a space does. A stray digit in a word is undone ("hell9" → "hello") while mp3 and covid19 stay put. A whole word typed one key off gets fixed. Miss the first letter and the full word sits on the bar. Custom and learned words now catch typos, not just exact matches. Words learned in one language stop blocking fixes in another. A word you type and immediately delete is unlearned. Portuguese "ela esta" becomes "está." "stakking" becomes "stalling." Typing "hel" keeps hello ahead of he and her. Keys beside space live in Arrange now, with Quick presets back on Layout. Number row, split, and one-handed sit on the Layout page. Default key feel is snappy, like the stock keyboard; the old springy feel is the Liquid preset. Swipe down for accent and dictation assists start on for new setups. Dictation follows the language you're switched to on the keyboard. Fixed: recent emoji that vanished after a close. Voice only, if that's all you came for. General, then Voice only, swaps the whole app for a single dictation screen: a pad you can talk into, and the couple of settings that change how dictation reads. Speak, and the text is there to copy, share or keep. Nothing switches off. Your keyboard, themes and tools go on working exactly as they do now, and one tap brings the rest back. Search that answers questions, not just words. Type "how do i add a language" into the bar on any tab. Settings you'd just flip anyway, like dictation, key sounds and autocorrect, now appear as switches in the results, so you turn them on without opening a page. Above the ordinary matches sit picks Apple Intelligence made from the same index. Every one is a real page, so a wrong guess is a wrong page, never invented advice. And a result on another tab now takes you to that tab, instead of burying the page inside the one you searched from. Ask Clink anything. The FAQ takes a question in your own words and writes the answer out of its own entries, with the ones it read listed underneath as links. When they don't cover it, it says so and points you at support rather than making something up. It's on the FAQ page and in the search results, and it runs on the phone. Sound and Haptics are two pages now, and every control auditions itself. The volume is a waveform that plays as you drag it, there's a keycap above the packs to hear the one you're on, and the feel pad fires under your finger as you set it. Make your own key sounds. Record a click with the mic or import one, trim and balance it into a pack, and send the pack to someone as a file. Four new bundled packs too: Tactile Brown, Clicky Blue, Typewriter and Marble. Pages that show you the thing instead of describing it. The swipe trail is a row of tiles that each draw the real trail in their own style. The clipboard hero acts a paste out in whichever style you're on, Bar, Panel, Grid or Bento. Emoji size and spacing are ramps of actual emoji rather than a dot on a rail. The keys either side of the space bar are one card with a scope switch, instead of the same grid hidden on three different screens. And Languages is the list of your languages again, with the settings that used to bury it moved into rows. Animated backgrounds work on any theme. Rain, embers and starfield used to belong to whichever theme carried them. Now you pick the look under Theme, Animated background, and it takes its colours from whatever theme you're on. It no longer needs the background switched on either, so the particles can drift over the app you're typing in. The standard iPhone Arabic layout, alongside the desktop-style one Clink already had. Arabic-Indic numerals are there too, under Languages, Numerals, if you want them on the 123 page. Your words can travel between devices. General, iCloud Sync, Learned words carries your dictionary to your iPad and back, encrypted, merged rather than replaced. A word you delete on one device stays deleted. Autocorrect fixes more of what you actually mistype. "I'd", "he'd", "she'd" and "we'd" finally get their apostrophes, and "id" and "shed" are judged by the sentence rather than a hand-written list. A whole word typed one key off ("gwkki" for "hello") now gets corrected. A number fat-fingered into a word no longer ruins it. Things like mp3 and covid19 are left alone. Swiping the next word finishes the one before it, the same way space does. A word learned in French stops defending a typo in your English. Learned words are remembered per language now. Typing a word and deleting it no longer teaches it. Arabic: around sixty everyday spoken words added, two-letter swaps demoted to suggestions, and the number pages give proper Arabic punctuation instead of the Latin marks. Fixed: recent emoji no longer vanish between sessions, and clipboard history can skip images.

Bring your own dictionary. Import a word list and Clink compiles it on the phone. It can stand on its own as a language we don't ship a lexicon for, or sit alongside one of ours and add its words to your suggestions. The file never leaves the device. Make your own language. Conlangs are first-class now: Toki Pona, Klingon, Sindarin, a conscript you invented last week. Name it, point it at a layout, and tell Clink the few rules it can't guess, like whether the script has capitals, which marks belong inside a word, what ends a sentence, its own digits and long-press letters. Hand it a word list and it predicts, corrects and capitalises like a language we built. The keyboard is more forgiving. Adaptive touch targets are on by default, the way they are on iOS, and Clink now learns where you actually land on each key and quietly compensates. Both were built and shipped switched off. Nothing leaves the phone. Key lighting. Your keys can now glow. Pick a style, set the colour and speed, and watch it run in the live preview while you type. It sleeps when idle and backs off in Low Power mode. Split keyboard. Push the keys out toward the screen edges so your thumbs reach less, optionally on the number row and symbol pages too. Build your own emoji categories. Make a set, name it, give it a tab icon, fill it with whatever you want. Plus layout options for the panel: search and tabs above the grid, below it, or gone. Changes. Every setting you've moved off its default, in one list, grouped by the page it came from, with a reset on each row. Stability. iOS kills keyboard extensions for using too much memory and writes no crash report, which is why asking for a crash log never worked. Clink keeps its own record now, with a share button. Korean. Jamo compose into syllable blocks inside the Translate, notepad and Cling fields, not only in the app you're typing into. Backspace peels one jamo instead of eating the syllable. Autocorrect. Three- and four-word run-ons split ("howareyou"). Contractions too ("cantwait" becomes "can't wait"). German, Hungarian and Korean are held out of it, because "Krankenhaus" is a word. Anything with a digit is left alone, since "b2b" was becoming "bob". Fixed: the keyboard reverting mid-sentence, which was memory climbing on every appearance. Two crashes on first open. A free trial offered to people who'd already used it and were charged straight away. Dictation only working once per launch. Predictions staying worse after a memory warning until you killed the keyboard.

Clink 1.4 is the biggest update since launch, and it changes how the app is sold: Clink is now free to download. If you bought Clink before this release, you keep everything, forever, at no cost. There is nothing to restore and nothing to tap. Open the app once and it sorts itself out. VOICE TYPING Dictation now lives in the keyboard. Tap the mic, talk, and watch the words land as you speak, with a live waveform so you can see it listening. You only ever visit Clink once per session instead of hopping back and forth for every sentence. There is a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, so you can stop a recording without opening anything. You can also speak an instruction mid-flow, like asking for a summary or a rewrite, and the result drops straight into the text field. HANDWRITING Write with your finger and Clink turns it into text. It runs entirely on device using the system's own recognition, so it needs no network and no Full Access. AI TOOLS A new panel that rewrites, shortens, expands, fixes tone, translates, and answers in place. It runs on Apple's on device models on iOS 26 and newer, so your drafts stay on your phone. You can write and save your own prompts, pick the tone, and lock the output language. WIDGETS Four new widgets: typing stats at a glance, a one tap profile switcher, quick dictate, and the dictation Live Activity. Switching profiles from the Home Screen changes the keyboard everywhere, instantly. PROFILES Save a whole keyboard setup, theme, layout, height, sounds, panels, and swap between them in one tap. Handy if you want something dense and quiet for work and something loud and colorful the rest of the time. TYPING ANALYTICS An optional screen that shows your speed over time, your most used keys, your correction rate, and which words you type most. It is off by default, it never leaves the device, and it costs nothing while it is off. ICLOUD SYNC Optional mirroring of your profiles and custom themes across your devices. Clipboard history can sync too, but it is off by default. Nothing leaves your phone until you turn it on. BETTER PREDICTION Autocorrect and swipe typing have both been rebuilt. There is a new spatial model that understands where your thumbs actually land, so near misses get fixed properly instead of being turned into the wrong word. On device learning now remembers the words you keep typing and stops undoing the corrections you reject. On iOS 26 and newer you can turn on neural prediction for sharper next word suggestions. A NEW APP The settings have been reorganised around four hubs, Customize, Tools, General, and Engine, with a search field that finds any setting by name. Themes and layouts now preview on a live keyboard as you edit them. There is a new key painter for colouring individual keys, a proper custom key editor, and a redesigned theme builder. Clink 1.3 is a massive update. Here’s what’s new: • Neural autocorrect is now available in Arabic, Bulgarian, Croatian, English, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Malay, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. It understands the sentence around what you’re typing, catches more real-word mistakes and is much less likely to “fix” names, slang or words you actually meant. • AI Tools lets you proofread, rewrite, shorten, translate, change tone or draft a reply without leaving the keyboard. You can create your own actions, edit the built-in prompts and see exactly what changed with underlines, an inline diff or a change list. It uses Apple Intelligence on supported devices. • Custom Actions and Custom Panels are now available to everyone. Build your own text actions and complete keyboard panels in Python, test them in the built-in editor and share them as files. Everything runs locally on your device. • Custom keys are much more powerful. Keys can have separate tap, shift, hold and swipe actions, sit on the number row, stay beside the space bar across layouts or open any built-in or custom panel. You can also import, export, duplicate and share complete layouts. • Korean now has full dubeolsik Hangul input. Vietnamese supports Telex, VNI and VIQR. Croatian, Arabic, Bulgarian and Hungarian have received proper layouts, dictionaries and input improvements. Adding a language now picks a suitable layout automatically. • Themes got a huge upgrade. There are loads of new themes, raised 3D keycaps, brushed metal finishes, key outlines, improved custom typefaces and more key press, entrance, letter and delete animations. • Backgrounds can now move and react while you type. Choose from Aurora, Rain, Embers, Starfield, Snow, Confetti, Fireworks, Lava and more, then adjust the colours, speed, density and reaction strength. They pause automatically when your phone needs to save power or memory. • Clink Pets have arrived. Pick from 17 little keyboard friends that watch you type, react to words and deletes, fall asleep when you stop and wake up when you return. • The clipboard now supports named groups and smart filters for links, email addresses, phone numbers and images. • The new haptic feel pad lets you adjust sharpness and strength together, with a live preview as you drag. • The whole Clink app has been rebuilt with native iOS navigation, controls, sheets, frosted cards and swipeable settings pages. There’s a lot under the hood too. Autocorrect and prediction now stay off the touch path, repeated work has been removed and haptics land as soon as you press a key. Fast typing should feel smoother, suggestions should be steadier and corrections should be both quicker and less aggressive. We’ve also fixed number pads opening incorrectly in empty fields, invisible suggestion text on transparent keyboards, overlapping emoji, disappearing recent emoji, theme preview issues, audio and haptic problems, and a long list of smaller keyboard bugs.

Clink 1.2 is the biggest update yet. Split keyboard. Open a gap down the middle so the keys pull to the edges and your thumbs reach less. Tune the gap, set where each row breaks, and let the edge letter and space bar drift to whichever thumb is free. Better swipe typing. Swipe now reads contractions like don't and you're, keeps the runner-up words one tap away when it guesses wrong, and learns the words you use. Dress the trail in seven looks: Neon, Rainbow, Sparkle, Comet, Fire, Ocean, and Solid. Smarter corrections. Clink learns the fixes you make over and over, catches real-word slips like tat into that, splits run-on words like alot into a lot, and ranks suggestions by what fits the word before them. Number and phone pads. Number, decimal, and phone fields now get a proper digit pad instead of the letter keyboard, themed to match. Languages. Type in several languages at once or switch one at a time with a swipe up on Return. The app itself now speaks ten languages. Profiles. Save whole setups and switch between them, export a single profile to share, and choose whether an imported config replaces your settings or becomes a new profile. First-run intro.
