As part of this we have included the ScanBaby simulator to simulate a sonographic examination. Simulation means that the images you see in the app are of course real sonographic images but NOT your own. By this we want to help expectant mothers to recognize the structures of their baby in their own sonographic images (which they have received from their doctor who performs a real examination). Just turn on the labeling in the app and see al structures highlighted to find the structures more easily. Therefore ScanBaby is NOT able to perform a real ultrasound examination of you. That’s why we’ve stated this both in the App Store and the app itself as well as in our user agreement that shows when you open the app the first time. When you start an ultrasound simulation it says at the start „This is NOT your own baby“. The simulation mode is designed to help women understand the concept of ultrasound and by turning on labelling they can learn what structures are shown inside a real ultrasound image.
