I’ve been a subscriber of Evernote since 2011, and after more than a decade of use, it still remains my favorite note-taking app. What’s kept me coming back is its elegant simplicity — everything just works. It’s incredibly intuitive and easy to use, whether I’m jotting down thoughts, uploading photos, or organizing my ideas.One of my favorite features is how I can draw directly on images. This has been invaluable for quick annotations, visual notes, and highlighting key information on the go. I also love how quickly images upload — it makes capturing information seamless.But perhaps what I appreciate most is the effortless retrievability of my data. With Evernote’s powerful search and well-structured organization, I can find notes from years ago in seconds — no digging, no stress.Through the years and despite all the changes in tech, Evernote has stayed solid, reliable, and genuinely helpful. It’s more than just a note-taking app — it’s been my digital memory for over a decade.
New Home Page UI/UX update in 2024 - not appealing

I’ve been an Evernote user since 2012 or 2013. Used it on/off till I started to resubscribe because I can easily organize my thoughts into notebooks which is attractive to me. I organized my stuff into widgets so I can easily click a certain note or notebook and attach things and write right away. That WAS amazing. But then.. here comes the update in 2024. The update that made my home screen “add a new note” to a DEFAULT NOTEBOOK — I do not appreciate. I hate it everytime I have to open the app now, I still need to locate my chosen notebook INSTEAD of simply opening the app and being greeted by my favorite widgets. It’s a struggle!!!!I have organized my homescreen BEFORE and actually thought about how to go about it to maximize efficiency. Now? This new update doesn’t even allow me to organize my notebooks and pin or tag what is important. I don’t know why it was made this way. It’s simple, yes. But only simple in aesthetic terms. But when you use it— it’s highly inconvenient. Now I am trying to look for alternatives because I am honestly annoyed with this. Not sure if I would like to renew my annual subscription next year.

Merry Christmas to you guys! For years, Evernote has been my go-to app when I have ideas that I have to write down asap before it escapes me, but with the new update of the icon months ago, I thought it would just grow on me and boy was I wrong. As time went by, I found myself opening it less frequently and more on the native iOS app just because the green elephant against the white background is just too unappealing. Most iOS users are too concerned with aesthetics and honestly, I’m not the only one who finds the green elephant against white extremely unpretty. My only issue is with the color of the icon. I hope you guys would ask around and maybe even start a poll on which new icon looks pretty. Thank you and more power.
New features:
- Add captions to your images to make them searchable. Evernote will suggest a caption for you, and you can edit it anytime.
- Date mentions are now available. Type @ to insert dates using natural language like "tomorrow", "next Friday", or "1st January". Supports relative dates, and you can customise the display format.
- Videos are now transcribed like audio with speaker recognition.
- Hand a live transcription to the AI Assistant to get a summary or ask additional questions.
