Great game with mediocre story and localization

As of version 1.0, this game has shown itself to be a stellar example of how far mobile gaming has come. The environments are beautiful, the exploration is fun and in-depth, and the combat is optimized for mobile without being overly simplistic.However, the story is honestly something you’d expect out of a kid’s game, not a massive gacha RPG riding off the coattails of the original Arknights. It’s not horrible, and it won’t put you to sleep, but it won’t impress you either. It doesn’t help that the English localization is really unnatural. Good VAs can only do so much if the script reads like it was translated with ChatGPT.Overall, I highly recommend Endfield. I’ve beaten all the 1.0 content and I’m looking forward to the next patch. Just don’t go into the game expecting a story that will stick with you in any meaningful way.

This game has my FAVORITE ENVIRONMENTAL AESTHETIC, vibes from like dying light 2 and as a former pgr player that I loved the most, I’m a sucker for a Mid day lighting (that 12:00pm especially 2:00pm sun, hits the spot) makes colors especially green vibrant. This game has BARELY ANY LAG EVEN AT 999ms it wont fps drop nor crash out, you know a game is deeply optimized when you just experience a slight pause when high ping then continue than lagging so bad I thought my iPhone 12 pro could not handle it just like the gacha games I played but it ran smoothly like a BUTTER. And that’s what makes me play games satisfied, as long as no lag (which is much Important to me) & overwhelming experience that means whole a lot to me. Also the story is really good, I hadn’t skipped anything yet lol (even tho I’am ADHD final boss it keeps me entertained). Please continue to optimize this game this is perfect in that wayyy.Update: The character designs are SOO GOOD!! and also free 6 stars are much appreciated, they say the pulls are much expensive in the especially if wanted to do limited banners, but I must say as a casual player I’m pretty much all set for the free stuff. The free characters doesn’t seem like one to their designs and how they are actually niche. I’m really loving this game so far.

Movement and combat feels very smooth, a lot of people before launch called this game out because of it’s “wishing” system, honestly thats not the case, the game is very generous with the amount of pulls you can get, a pity of 120 doesn’t even matter because for most cases, you’ll get a six star way earlier. If there is one thing the game might not be for everyone, it’s the way to grind materials. Personally I enjoy the farming method, building your own factory, selling spare components for the local cash, I have fun a lot, you can even share blueprints between yourself, and your friends. However, the tutorials are a little hard to follow, especially that a lot of the game feels like a tutorial simulator. If you’re not the type of person who enjoys the complex mechanics of creating your farming industry that works even offline, maybe the game isn’t for you.

Character design is great. Each operator has a unique animation in the semi-open world and when looking through stats and gear. Even 4 stars look really great. Producing less characters without compromising quality was the way to go. The game runs well on an iphone which is surprising considering most games have not been this optimized. As for the gameplay, sandbox feature has been very fun. Setting up zip line nodes then traversing it is enjoyable. Factory gameplay was excruciating at first especially with the amount of information given all at once. I can see why some players may get turned off by this. Hopefully, there are more options for base defense such as a weekly challenge in the future. Multiple in-game currencies may get confusing. Information overload may get too overwhelming for some players. Combat-wise, effects and animations are satisfying. The weight of the weapons are felt and the sound effects are great. Combo skills are a great way to use all characters.Initial release rewards were okay but rewards these past few weeks were really generous especially with the 6 star characters. I’ve been waiting for this game for a long time and it did not disappoint.
