The Academic Word List, which developed by Averil Coxhead (Victoria University of Wellington) contains academic words that you are likely to meet if you study at an English-speaking university. This Academic Word List also appears in Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary. It's a good app for learning academic vocabularies because of its rich source of sentences and other helpful functions. I think It will be greater if it could show message or words on notification center daily to help users use "the word of the day". Thank you for your work. :)

This update from Apple will improve the functionality of this app. No new features are included. Thank you for using our app! In this version, we introduced 'use in sentence' features. Each word comes with a number of sample sentences. Over 30000 sentences are added in this update. We hope this feature will help you to understand how to use a word in context.
