Overall good cloud client, but the background media upload isn’t work well, there's no option for automatic media delete after successful uploading to the OneDrive cloud, and search isn’t work as I would expect in 2019 (like in Google Photos app). Please improve if you want to stay competitive on this market. Thank you!
Unacceptable, Manipulative, and User-Hostile Behavior
Oc Di
This is one of the most disrespectful user experiences I have ever encountered from a company the size of Microsoft. The app silently enabled automatic copying of photos and videos from my phone camera without asking for clear, explicit consent. This is not a “small setting” — this is deeply invasive behavior. A company should never assume it has the right to mirror personal media by default. What makes it worse:once the files are copied, the app intentionally prevents bulk deletion. Deleting everything at once is either hidden, restricted, or impossible. This feels deliberate, not accidental. The design strongly suggests a manipulative strategy:flood the cloud storage with my own photos, make cleanup painful, and then push me toward buying more storage just to escape the mess you created without permission. This is not a bug. This is not user-friendly.This is not respectful. It looks like dark-pattern design meant to trap users into paid plans through friction and frustration. For a company that claims to care about privacy and transparency, this behavior is embarrassing.Until Microsoft learns to respect user consent and provides full, simple control over personal data, this app does not deserve trust — or a higher rating.
Auto backup of optimized photos and videos
Sergey_apple
Add the ability to back up the originals of optimized photos and videos. I installed the app, turned on backup, and only the last 10 photos out of 250 were uploaded, which the iPhone did not have time to optimize. Why do you need this auto backup in Apple app at all ?? So far, one star for such a flaw.p.s. Also add sorting files in "Change time" order, not only "Time of creation", and, it would be very nice if the uploaded files manually and during auto backup, their original attributes such as the date of file creation and the date of modification were saved.
Poor Support & Unresolved Issues
Andrii Konopat
The OneDrive iOS app has a critical issue: the "Make Available Offline" function does not work for folders, only for individual files. This significantly affects productivity on corporate devices. The worst part? Microsoft support is unresponsive. After multiple requests, they failed to escalate my issue to the correct department, only providing email addresses that never reply. I followed up several times, but still no response. Terrible customer support. If you rely on OneDrive for business, be aware that Microsoft does not properly handle technical issues on iOS.
This update contains bug fixes and stability improvements.
