There are times when my main accounts get SO low (we’re in the middle of a pandemic) that and extra $20 offered by FM would make all the difference in the world. It could feed us and allow us a couple of dollars of gas. In my circumstance,only reason for accessing apps such as float Me is to get that receive and that $20 last a couple of days until my scheduled payday. With the restrictions shown on the app with regard to bank balances, that check to see if you have money in your account or not, will automatically deny your request for a $20 float. The irony is that if I HAD money in my bank account, the necessity to use Float Me wouldn’t exist. As a frequent user, Float Me needs to update their rules in order to help those of us who do not currently have money in their account for a couple of days until payday. We are struggling out here and that $20 could and does keep us from struggling or literally being hungry. My opinion? A bank balance containing cash makes using Float Me rather redundant. This rule should be rethought. This app is useless if a zero balance is the determining factor Thanks for taking the time to read my opinion.

Sloppy, unreliable, greedy, and insulting

Their app is sloppy, ugly to look at, and buggy. The balance is always 1-2 days behind, and if you try to reconnect your bank to refresh the balance then you are penalized and reset back to $10 loans. They will only offer you $10-$20 anyways — it’s rather insulting. And want a $4 advance fee and $1.99 subscription fee on top of that… to borrow $20. Despite having access to your bank balance, they will charge you $1.99 on no particular schedule, sometimes multiple times in a month, usually when there’s no money and overdraft you. And while they collect their $1.99, they tell you you are ineligible for a float… despite always having paid it back, steady income over $1k/week, and knowing you get paid in a couple days. They don’t tell you why you’re being denied and their criteria in FAQ is vague and not helpful. They will float you last week, take their money back, then deny you without reason when you actually need it and take their subscription fees anyways. Good luck getting a refund If someone is needing to borrow $20, they’re clearly in a desperate situation. It’s ridiculously insulting to deny a loyal user of the app this based on some arbitrary numbers and obscure criteria. They break their commitments to customers, offer no value otherwise, yet deny their subscription refunds and overcharge on advance fees. If FloatMe is that scared you’ll suddenly default on a $20 advance then they have no business lending in the first place.

As for Float me - it’s not great at all but apple wouldn’t publish my review I guess because I was honest but I bank with chime so it’s only so many apps I can use empower was one of them the first issue came about when I couldn’t get an advance because they told me they didn’t see any direct deposits in my account which there was but the next pay I was able to get only a 10 dollar advance with a 775 dollar pay check…I got the free trial and had put for them to bill my chime account so I could continue to advance if I needed fast forward I had got my 10 dollar advance and I had it to put it on my empower card because I didn’t wanna pay a 3.00 fee for an instant transfer to my chime and soon as they gave me my 10 dollar advance they took it 8 dollars within the 10 mins and then support told me they took the 8 dollars for my subscription I told them I understand that but I didn’t tell you guys to take subscription money from my empower card I even told them I didn’t even set my empower card up or order one when I first got the free trial and choose chime as my bank I asked support to give me my 8 dollars back because how do u guys expect me to pay the 10 back when y’all took it and I couldn’t even use it they told me they weren’t giving me a refund and that they would cancel my subscription and not give me MY MONEY back horrible app don’t use it at all!

Check out the BBB Website on this app. They’ve had a lawsuit for millions for their unethical practices. This app took my card info during the sign up. Then it denied me an account with them due to “suspicious activity” on my banking account. Which that was extremely weird considering I’ve had other apps that offer cash advances for years and never once been told this. My bank account attached is in good standing with no issues whatsoever. Anyways I simply downloaded this app to try something new outside of the apps I’ve tried before. The issue is I now have an FloatMe account that was “suspended” for “unusual bank activities” that has put me not being able to login to said account to CANCEL the actual monthly membership fee (yes, my card is still on file and being charged for a membership I was never given access to). There’s no actual customer service support over the phone. The website tells you to “cancel in the app”. However, again I cannot even log into the app. I’ve sent multiple emails and waited days to get a response from “support” via email and have gotten very vague responses. All I asked was to ensure my card was took off file and proof that my membership was not going to be debited from my bank account for a service/account that was never activated. This app gaslights people into giving them their bank info, just to be ignored and left with no real way to communicate with support about canceling their membership payments. They are a SCAM! DO NOT PUT IN YOUR CARD INFO! I’d suggest trying other legit options!!
