Like Lord of the Board - online backgammon and Spades Royale, Gin Rummy Stars is developed and distributed by Beach Bum, the makers of leading online multiplayer social games. The card game is intended for adults and does not require real money. There is also no opportunity to win real money or prizes. Whoever wins this game does not necessarily have to win real money games.
This game is only available to users of legal age. Winning any valuable items or money is not possible while playing this game. Additionally, your success in this game does not guarantee success in a comparable real-money casino game.
Let me just start off by saying I love this game. I find myself sneaking to play this game at work, I play it while watching Netflix, I play it when I can’t sleep. Rummy reminds me so much of my child hood and this game provides lots of nostalgia. With that being said, I have some issues with this game. The biggest aggravation to me and I will never understand why the makers of this game decided it would be cool, but when you lose by a large number the coins you pay to enter a game can often be multiplied 16X. So let’s say you pay 1000 coins to enter a game and you lose. There is a 60 point gap between you and your opponent…you’re going to lose 16,000 coins. I have paid a few times to add coins to my account because I ran out….one time I played 2 games and all 50k of my coins were gone. It’s absurd. Sure multiply it for winnings but I don’t think it’s fair to the loser to lose all of their coins just because the other player got lucky with their cards. I get the makers need to make money but it just feels like robbery to me. ANOTHER THING I’ve paid to spin the wheel and every single time I hit in the 40-50k range. Has anyone actually hit the larger amounts? And last rant..I paid today for a $7.99 package that had a bonus lottery with it. The bonus never showed after purchase. I did message support about that and will update based upon their help. Over all this is a good game it just has a lot of flaws. I would love to play the 150k and up games but I lose my coins before I ever have enough to enter a game.

Great Game with issues

Absolutely love to play this Gin rummy game because the game and mini games are so much fun and so good but there are so many things that I need to complain about. First thing first .. Why and how are these certain players winning by Gin on their first or second move over and over. I also found this app to glitch or say “ no connection “ when my internet shows a full bar? It seems to do this right as I’m about to win and I lose 10,000 points because I “ left the table “ or “ you have been inactive for 40 seconds “ the other day I had the best hand and was ready to win and suddenly I have no connection? The other day it said I had no connection and I was so upset but then it got back to the game picked up a card and discarded a card before my time was up and I got a message saying “ you have been inactive for more then 40 seconds so you lost “ or whatever it said and it too all my money I had left. Which brings me to another issue….. so say you play a game that’s 2500 points and you only have 2560 points and you lose and the other person wins they only get 2560 points because that’s all they have available but if I have 20,000 points it takes 10,000 as points if I lose I kind of feel like that’s not fair. So I have found other gin rummy games or Tongits which I love instead bc I’m so tired of watching ads and playing mini games to play one hand and lose my last 10,000 in a 2500 game that last only 15 seconds because this individual won on her 2 card pickup.

Not what I'm used to
plaintiger
I came from a different gin game that kept my cards auto-sorted all the time and in which a regular-length game went to 100 points (in Rummy Stars a "long" game is to 50 points and you have to tap a button when you want the game to sort your cards - EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.) so I'm still getting used to this and deciding whether I'm going to stick with it or find a more accommodating version. Rummy Stars also keeps throwing tangential nonsense in your face – opportunities to spend five dollars in real money just to spin a stupid wheel (?!), and ploys to get you to spend real money on other things as well. But the short games, the need to manually tap a button to keep your hand sorted, and the annoying distractions still don't completely cancel out the fun of this game. It's gin rummy, it seems to let you play against other real humans, and it has fun animations for your avatar that you can use to signal happiness, distress, anger, etc.; I also like the physical feel of it – there's something that seems very smooth about the way you drag a card out of your hand and throw it into the discard pile. The physical motion used for that seems the same as in the gin game I came from, but there's something about it in this game that just gives it a smooth feel. I don't know how that could be, but that is the way it seems to me. Overall, it's enjoyable – more enjoyable than annoying – and I may hang onto this one for a while.(P.S. to Apple: "something" is almost never written as two words; kindly male your voice transcription a LOT smarter than it currently is. Thank you.)

Fun game but some major drawbacks
Rastc
The game is quick, fun, and an easy to use app. However…I have been playing gin rummy (with real cards) weekly for a couple of decades. I have never seen deals like this. At the lower cost tables you top out pretty quickly and can’t get packs of cards, so if you care about set collection you have to bet more. Which would be fine, except once you get to then or expensive tables the game loses all reality. Opponents get gin with one card, and the big point spread guarantees you will be losing more than the table bet because of the multiplier. In 20 years of weekly games, the times someone was dealt gin, basically are less than it happens in 20 games of this app. Add in the glitches, Wi-Fi loss even though I am streaming on my computer while playing and it connects fine, going to bed with tens of thousands of coins and waking up with only 2000, level 57 after 500+ games and still only have two decks to choose from, hundreds of duplicate reward cards but very few full sets….It’s designed to get you hooked and force you to spend money. Well, no thank you. If the games were fair I wouldn’t mind, but if I wanted to throw my money away on a rigged game I would go to Vegas.
