So to start off, Bright Money seems to be in it's infancy so give it a chance. The developers seem to be continually updating the app, working out kinks and listening to user feedback. The concept alone is genius. It especially reaches to the people that have credit card debt, able to make atleast minimum payments yet still can't seem to take ahold and climb out of debt. In a nutshell, this app is a one-spot stop that lists your credit cards (min payment, due dates, apr, etc) as well as your checking accounts (funding accounts they call them) and then Bright will pay atleast the minimum if you set it up to for each credit cards. The genius part about this is that you set up a monetary monthly goal for your Bright account that has to be atleast the minimum of your credit cards that you want to pay through Bright. Bright will analyze your funding accounts (i.e. know how much you roughly spend on bills and other expenses monthly from your checking accounts) and put away money accordingly in the Bright account to pay atleast the minimum of your cards and then some if you set a monthly goal of more than just the minimums. It also pays it off smartly if possible, meaning it pays atleast the minimum payment before the due date (again if possible)making you pay less APR on the credit card. They just added a new feature which allows you to pick different pay off methods on how you would like to tackle your credit card debt (highest APR first, lowest balance first, highest balance first... etc) but the best part about that is that it tells you the advantages and disadvantages of each method. I am telling you this will be a game changer for many people if they are willing to work through the kinks.
They Keep Charging Me and They’ve Stolen My Money

Where do I begin? They’re great at taking the money from my account very quickly… then trying to actually get it out to make payments is painful (I’m being nice, as I can’t curse on here). I’ve had a withdrawal pending for over 3 weeks now and they’re still saying it’s “Pending” and then they tell me I need to wait two more business days and it will be there. They said I need to verify my identity. I’ve done it twice. Fast forward another two more business days and surprise! The money is nowhere to be found. Now the support. I think I would get a better customer support from a well trained simian than working with their chat support. They ask a question and I go to look at it to go ahead and get the issue resolved. When I come back to answer, they have closed the chat because I didn’t respond… after a minute. When they asked me to do something for them. Now to their phone support - I called and they say something completely different than the chat. I ask for a supervisor and they say they’re busy and will call me back. Three days have gone by and no call back. I decide I need to stop all withdrawals… they still take the money from my account after I tell the app to stop. I will not be renewing and the problem is that I will probably not get any help from them once I do. They have now stolen money from me and I keep getting the run around. They also keep taking money from me. Run far and fast away from this app. If I could give it no stars I would.

This app has hurt my credit not helped it. The credit building program is a farce. Once the initial setup was complete it worked as advertised for a short period and then issue after issue arose. Payments were not going through or saying late when there is no reason for it. Badly reflecting on credit reports. Every time you hit the "paid" balance and it restarts it hits your credit for up to 75 points of a drop. After awhile the credit building section of the app just disappeared completely. I could no longer make manual payments preemptively to prevent the false "late" payments. I couldn't even see what the balance is or manage anything whatsoever. Whenever I would receive an email saying "Payment is overdue" and click the "Pay now" option it would open the app and just take me to the main page as the credit building section has ceased to exist. The customer service is useless as if they don't even know how the app works and have 0 experience. Continuously I have contacted with 0 result. They even try and deflect saying it is other loans or payments affecting your credit not them. I currently have no other credit items reported just them, and my report specifically states that my credit dropping was due to the bright money program. They are either unwilling to help or so incompetent they are unable to. Either way, would never recommend them. Completely awful. Be cautious in doing business with them.
Credit Builder Program Scam

I didn’t qualify for the transfer LOC so they suggested their credit builder program by which they’d “offer” me a $50 LOC and I’d pay back $10/month for 5 months to qualify to apply for the transfer LOC. Seemed low risk enough. At no point during the offering of this program or me subsequently signing up for it was there any indication whatsoever that it required a membership for a monthly subscription fee that would be charged annually. They took $99 out of my account. I’m literally paying them to “borrow” $50 - which has yet to be produced in any way commonly associated with a typical LOC - and then paying them back the $50 they “loaned” me likely out of the $99 they charged me in the first place or the $99 they charged someone else. In other words, I’m paying them $149 to borrow $50 from MYSELF or some other poor hapless soul. When I contacted customer service during non business hours I was responded to by a bot and given a 48 hour response wait time. In an email response 2 days later they explained the fee was taken for the membership in the program and when I replied to cancel the membership and take me out of the program I got no response whatsoever. I contacted again this morning only to get another response from a bot and a wait time of another 48 hours. I don’t know why they have so many stars or if anyone truly has received a transfer LOC but if they have it seems Bright is scamming people with lower credit scores to obtain the cash to finance their transfer LOC program.
