As of October 1, 2023… I’m not to happy after the updated for my iPhone, that I noticed I was getting charged twice for the same monthly subscription on to different days. Once on the 3rd and then again on the 5th. I have tried contacting them through the app and since I just found out, I’ll give it some time. If I wouldn’t have updated my phone, and seen the screen that shows my monthly subscriptions, I would have not caught this with all these auto pay. As far as the books, I like the books that are actually complicated. I don’t like the books that say ongoing because some have been ongoing for months and I think they just forgot about them. Some of the voices for the dramatizations are horrific and high pitched so if you’re wearing headphones or ear buds be careful. Also, be careful and watch your library because I have seen books in my library that I did not add on there and when I remove them, they reappear like if someone else is adding it to my account. That’s scary. Hopefully, this review will help to address this concern.I would also recommend that you use the daily bonuses to make purchases for the chapters, but as I’ve said in the beginning of this review be careful your not getting charged more than once a month, with auto pay. This does give you more coins on a daily basis. Just watch the timers because you can receive bonuses after listening 30, 60 & 90 minutes.

Originally, you got 20 coins for checkin then for a few weeks it went to 45, which I thought it was an upgrade as a reward for accessing the app daily. Then I noted it went down to 20 then to 15 and now back to 20. Then the listening coins were 10 for 30 minutes, 30 for 90 minutes, and 40 for 120 minutes total of 80 coins. This could be 1 or two chapters depending on the book. November 1, 2023 it went down to 5 for 30 minutes, 15 for 90 minutes, and 25 for 120 minutes total of 45 for the same amount of reading, but for less coins. Watching ads were 5 coins per add then 3 coins, and today reduced to 2 coins. Instead being a valued diligent customer you are being reprimanded for it. It’s ridiculous! On top of the fact that the value of this books are literally almost the price of a first edition of a classic book not even close to a classic plot, and they’re not equivalent to the outrageous price. I can buy a best seller for cheaper. So I refuse to spend 100s on a book. Now, I started a new book that has 233 chapters that I have to finish after this I’m deleting the app. It’s ridiculous the changes. I’m not buying it’s not worth that amount of money, but I’ll get the measly coins offered and for 1-2 chapters. I should have it all open in 1-2 months. Then I can listen to it.🤦🏻‍♀️

I am a huge fan of this app and I frequently listen to audio books. The stories are so captivating and they always manage to draw me in. However, I have to admit that it can be quite frustrating when I constantly find myself running out of tokens or when the prices for tokens are ridiculously high. It would be great if the company could come up with a better token system or perhaps offer a subscription option for avid readers like myself. This subscription could provide unlimited reads and maybe even allow us to choose two or three books per month. That way, we can fully enjoy the content without having to dip into our Christmas savings. If this isn't possible, I guess I'll just have to read whenever I can afford it.

I love the stories I have read/listened to. BUT, there are some major issues. #1, the amount of money spent to read one book is astronomical! And I have spent a lot of money on this app! #2, I absolutely HATE how once you come to the end of the chapters available on the book you are currently reading it automatically starts taking coins for chapters on recommended books! I did not choose these books nor did I buy coins for books I didn’t pick. There’s two books I listen to right now; one I’ve finished and just love so much I listen to it over and over. The other one I’ve been listening to I’m on episode 423. Seriously, I’ve spent $150 on these stories and some of that was wasted on books the app automatically rolls over to. I really wish you guys would change that. I’m seriously thinking about not buying any more coins and just listen to what I have already to build my coins up to unlock the rest of the book I’m listening to, then I will be deleting the app. I would never go in a bookstore and spend that much money on two books🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️!
