I really like this app in concept, the tools are good and localization features are a game changer. I used it to make all my app screenshots in 4 languages. Then I ran into bugs. The app originally exported perfectly, then after one update it exported weird distorted images, then after another update that was fixed but it exported the wrong sized, images, then that was fixed etc. There definitely isn’t enough emphasis form the developer on quality control. Then with the most recent update it crashes too frequently. I emailed the developer and only got a response after multiple months so support isn’t great either. With those caveats, I’ve gone back to using the app because the international features are actually useful. So before you buy, know that it’s maybe not the most reliable app ever, but when it works it is nice.If it wasn’t so buggy I’d buy lifetime in a hardhat but as it is I never know if the next update will work properly or not…

When it Works…

When it works it’s beautiful. Plenty of customizable colors and gradients to choose from. You can adjust the placements of your screenshots. Quick upload to your App Store Connect. Although it would have been nice if it used the term API instead of .p8 file. Or use both for newbies like me. What I am not enjoying is how it’s like pulling teeth to get this app to connect to your photos. I just keep getting the spinner. The one time I did get it to work I had to close out the app multiple times before it finally connected. Yes, I checked in settings to make sure it had permission. It’s really frustrating. This process is strenuous enough. Please make the app perform better!I’m trying to use it for another project. It keeps saying that my screenshots have all been downloaded. I don’t see them anywhere. Well, there are a couple of blank pages in my phones file folder, but when you click on them they just take you back to the app and that project. When I try to upload them to App Store Connect it prompts me to pay for a subscription. I’ve already paid for a month and it’s only been a week. And there doesn’t seem to be a way to log in so that I can prove that I’ve paid for my account. This app is too much trouble. I going to cancel.

Mostly good, couple minor issues

Picasso definitely saved me time creating app screenshots, and the outputs were perfect. I did encounter some issues signing up: First, the email went to my spam folder (gmail), then, after clicking the link in the email, it wasn’t clear what I should do next. I was expecting the app to automatically detect I had validated my email. After waiting for a while, I just went to File > New document and it worked. My least favorite thing about this app is how it defaults to occupying almost the entire screen every time I go into Preview mode! Other minor issues: Selecting recent fonts adds duplicates to the recent fonts. Once I had changed fonts, it wasn’t clear what the original font was. I’d give this app a 4.5/5.
Great app for developers

This app is great! I was thinking about making app app for myself just like this because I absolutely hate making App Store screenshots (talk about the second 90%). This does what I need to get an app update out the door with ease. There are a few things that could be done to make it better.- The device bezels that Apple's marketing resources provide have a license agreement. It appears that these wireframes are being used in the app. The developer should pass on that license agreement to the user of the app to make sure they play by the rules.- Templates! I'd like to make a template and then provide a JSON file or the like along with a directory to images to automate the app.- A nice touch would be a File > New Project that asks you which devices and platforms you support and then creates placeholder for required assets.- While this fall Apple will only require one screenshot per each device type, I would like to see this app have a strong opinion that the best experience is still per-device screenshots.- Support for multiple windows - different projects. I'd like to be able to look at multiple of my apps at a time. I have a visual style across my apps that I like to maintain. Having to change the device target a bunch is cumbersome and could be much better.- Support for multiple windows - the same project. I'd like the ability to quickly copy and paste the screenshot captions across different device types to make sure they're all lining up and easily edit with less push and pop.- Support to duplicate the copy from one device to another. I don't want to copy the entire screen including device screenshot, I want to just copy the image caption to another device.- The settings pane on macOS feels like it is missing navigation push and pop functionality. For example going into Settings > XCStrings Files, there isn't a 'back' button to go back. When exploring the different settings screens of the app there is more back and forth and reopening of the window that should have IMHO support 'back' navigation.

Thanks so much for the great review! Love the feedback you’ve listed here, but a better place for it would be the official feature tracker, where other users can see your tickets and everyone votes on what to build next. https://picasso.features.vote/boardRegarding the back button behaviour, that’s a limitation of SwiftUI for macOS. I can’t seem to get proper navigation to work within a sheet. Also, you are able to duplicate any item in a screenshot to another screenshot. Simply right click to access the menu.
Added support for new devices.
- iPhone Air
- iPhone 17, Pro and Max (including Cosmic Orange!)
- Apple Watch S11
- Apple Watch Ultra 3
