・A clock button now sits in the room's bottom-left corner. Press it to show the time, press again for "Time read in this room", and once more to hide it. ・In "My books", "Delete this book" now removes a registered book. Your reading time and notes stay. ・In the room, the names above the seats no longer overlap, and your reading companions' names now appear in a soft green. ・"Rustling pages" now comes at a gentler pace, so it doesn't pile up even in a busy room. ・"Settings & account" is now split into "Settings" and "Account". In "Settings" you can switch "Room sound" and "Rustling pages", and with an account you can also choose "Reading time updates" and "Show the book you’re reading". ・From "Account" you can now send yourself a "Reset password" email. "Delete account" has moved to its own section at the very bottom, "Can’t be undone". ・Plus small adjustments to wording and screens throughout the app.

・While the window shows the night sky (7 p.m. to 5 a.m.), "Ambient sound", opened from the sound button in the room, now offers "Crickets". ・The "Solo room" can now be arranged too: "Arrange the room" lets you choose its furniture, floor and walls, and light. ・The room gains "Low-power mode": it stops drawing the 3D room and simply lists the people here, which is easier on your device. Press it again to go back to 3D. ・The room's buttons gain "Always show names", which keeps the names above the seats on screen. ・In "Profile", next to "Make a reader card", there is now "Make your bookmark card" (once you have read at least once). Owners can also use "Make your Owner card". ・A "Note" marked "Contains spoilers" is now shared as two images, with a spoiler cover first. ・When you share an invite link, the image is now a card showing that room.

・A "?" on each screen now opens a short explanation of that spot. "How to use" in "Settings & account" gathers them all in one place. ・In Arrange, the pen beside the room name at the top now lets you change it right there. ・Arrange gains "Preview": see the room as it looks when you walk in, seat animals on the chairs, and turn it into an "Arranged my room" card to save or share. After you save, it also offers to make the card. ・"Ambient sound", opened from the sound button in the room, now has a "Rustling pages" switch. Turn it off and only the page sounds stop; the ambient sound you chose keeps playing. The setting stays on this device. ・When you have unsaved changes, the confirmation now offers "Leave without saving".

・A "Long walnut table" joins the room. Choose the table in Arrange and you can switch between it and the "Round table". ・Plants gain two new types: "Tall houseplant" and "Sweet osmanthus", in the same row as the plant and the vase. ・Arrange now has "Rotate left 90°" and "Rotate right 90°". A piece you want square against the wall lines up in one tap. ・A room holding furniture this app doesn't know will now let you in. Anything it can't read is drawn in its original look, instead of stopping you at the door.

・"Arrange" now has Undo and Redo. A piece you put away by mistake, a piece you nudged too far, even "Back to preset" — one tap brings it back. ・The controls under the room are now a single row. Choose a kind of furniture and the row becomes its types; "Furniture" takes you back to the list, and "Room" puts size, floor, wall and light in that same row. ・Tap a piece already in the room and its types open in that row too, exactly as when you place a new one.

・Your room's furnishing now has a "Light" setting. Choose anywhere from "Dimmer" to "Brighter", or leave it "As usual" and the room stays exactly as it was. Anyone reading with you sees the same light. ・You can now choose an "Ambient sound" from the sound button in the room: "White noise" or "Rain", and rain also falls on the window. Choose nothing and it stays as before, only the sound of pages turning. The candle no longer crackles, and the rainy days that used to arrive on their own are gone. ・A "Wood stove" joins the furniture, and a room with one can play a "Crackling fire". "Chair style" offers three chairs, and rugs come in a choice of shape, size and material, with up to five in a room. ・Rooms on iPhone and iPad are now drawn at their true brightness. The white haze is gone, walls differ in light by direction again, and glass and lacquer show their reflections. ・The card of a room you have furnished now shows a picture of that room. ・In "My books", a book you register becomes what you are "Reading now". Open a book to fix it, finish it or share it, all in one place. ・When you can't enter a room, the app now tells you why and what you can do next. ・In landscape the room is drawn larger, and "Quietly leave" sits at the bottom right.

・You can now leave a line while you are still reading — open it from the bottom-right of the room, keep it, and the screen is as it was. ・What you write is unchanged in every other way: kept for you alone, with no counts and no badges. ・A book you have just finished can go out as a card there and then, and "Not now" simply closes it.

・When you leave the room you can now leave one line for today — up to 50 characters, and only if you feel like it. ・What you write is kept for you alone: read it back by date on your profile, or gathered under each book. ・You can add that line to your reader card when you share it, and a book you've finished goes out as one card or as a series. ・Your profile is now laid out as "Reading life" and "Bookshelf", and your reading companions have a list of their own.

・mekuru now runs on iPad. The room and "Arrange" have been laid out again for the wider screen. ・You can hold the device sideways now — landscape works on iPhone and iPad alike. ・The page-turn sound is now a recording of real paper, in place of the synthesized one. ・On 120 Hz screens the room was being drawn twice as often as it needed to be. It's capped at sixty frames a second now, which asks less of the device.

・If the screen hasn't been touched for about two hours, we ask "Still reading?" once, and end the reading fifteen minutes later if there's no answer — so hours nobody read don't get mixed into your record. ・Added "Make a reader card": all the reading time you've gathered, as a single image, ready to share. ・When an invite link can't let you in, the app now tells you why.

・In room arranging, you can now choose the floor and the walls — walnut or oak underfoot, and lacquer, plaster or wood panel around you. ・Each room you arrange remembers its own floor and walls. ・You can now offer to become reading companions with someone you read beside for five minutes or more in a public room, quietly, as you leave. ・When you decline an offer you can choose between declining this once and never receiving one from that person again. Either way, nothing is shown to them. ・If you try to accept an offer without an account, we now show you how to make one. ・When you share an invite, a sentence you can send as it is now comes with the link.

・In room arranging, furniture now follows your finger while you hold it. ・Nothing is tied to the 0.5 m grid any more: pieces line up on their own when they come close, and stop against each other instead of overlapping. Snapping can be turned off. ・The free four-seat room is now the hand-arranged study, exactly as it was laid out. ・While you move a piece, a small window on the side away from your hand shows the spot your fingers are covering — and how much room is left beside it. ・When a room has not been named, its default name now appears in your own language.

• Fixed a problem where switching the style of the share card you get when leaving a room could leave it stuck on “Preparing…”, with “Room” no longer selectable. • Switching styles no longer keeps you waiting — the card is ready to share right away.

• The share card you get when leaving a room now comes in three styles — the room itself, the book you are reading, or today's reading time. • Fixed a problem where copying or sharing a room's invite link could close the room. • Stepping away for a moment now frees your seat properly, while the room itself stays open. • Opening your profile with no signal now shows your real plan and reading time instead of falling back to the defaults. • When you are offline, the profile says plainly what still works and what waits for a connection.

• From the moment you open the app, you are still yourself. Your name and avatar no longer flicker back to a guest for an instant. • Out of signal, you can now look at your rooms, your books, and the reading time you have gathered. • A name, avatar or binding you change offline stays on your device and reaches us quietly once you are connected. • Your books now stand on the shelf as books, with spines and a bookmark. • Reading a cover now asks in two steps: the title first, then the author. • While something is loading, a page turns slowly.

• Your reading state and elapsed time can now show on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. • A “Today's reading” widget for your Home Screen. • “Start Reading” in Siri and Shortcuts opens a reading room of your own straight away. • Invite links now come with a QR code — just show your screen to someone nearby. • Clearer wording about what is kept while you read as a guest, and a quiet welcome back if you have been away a while. • Gentler light and air in the rooms; a name drifts above its reader, then fades. • Lighter room images and 3D models, so less is downloaded. • Fixed a problem where changing seats repeatedly could make the room disappear.
