Yeah, it’s a calculator and has scientific modes and the ability to convert currencies. You have all kinds of nifty backgrounds to choose from. So that’s cool and I would give it a higher rating if I could just leave it at that. But it’s the ads. Yeah, I get it’s a free tool and you gotta pay your developers somehow. Why can’t there just be a perpetual banner at the top or at the bottom? I don’t have issue with the ads themselves, but I DO have issue with each ad taking up the entire screen. I happily use lots of free apps that have some sort of ad banner. But see, I can still *use* the app! Ya’ll are missing the point. I think it’s safe to say all the other users that have complained about the ads aren’t necessarily complaining that the ads exist. It’s how they’re presented and how it hinders the usability and, consequently, users’ satisfaction with the app.

I work in homes of clients doing construction and general contracting as well as on industrial job sites bidding big $$ jobs. I installed this calculator on my new iPad mini because I needed something on it to do little bids on this machine when I’m not using my iPad Air. Wow... it is garbage. Locks up after every keystroke because it’s trying to connect to its ad server, plays video ads constantly when connected to WiFi... I get thr need for a banner ad at the bottom that’s static (you did create the app for income, after all), but locking up because it’s priority is fetching ads before functionality of the app itself, where a dev thinks missing inputs from the client is acceptable while loading more ad banners instead of doing this function in the background... the dev obviously isn’t serious about the app and only cares about cranking in as much ad revenue as possible. If I was advertising online and saw my ad on your calculator I’d give my ad agency one chance to remove ads from crap programs like this or I’d fire them because the people who would be relevant customers would never use an app as broken as this, and I’d be wasting my PPI ad dollars on school children and people who didn’t have enough sense to check the App Store for any of the other 50 results for the search term “calculator” and download any other calculator app. At all.

I do not recall this app being this bad when I first installed it but over time, it seems to have grown much worse. The developers not only permit ads on the free version but allow ads that totally hijack the application that one cannot close or can only close with difficulty. You spend more time trying to figure out how to close the ads than actually using the calculator. I therefore consider this free version to be a scam and I will not install their paid version with no ads for that reason. Had they provided a free lite version and a more functional paid version, I would have been ready to upgrade this app to a version without ads., had the advertising on the free version been less intrusive and more easily closeable. However, I do not like being bent over in this manner to get me to to pay up for an upgrade, even though the paid version is cheap enough. Either the developers are not monitoring the ads, unlikely, or are actively collaborating to make the advertising to be this annoying in order to sell their paid versionI am surprised that Apple has even allowed the developers to get away with this and am considering a complaint to Apple about this! Would have given 0 stars had I had the ability to do so.

What side salad thought that the person is in complete thought and focus on anything mathematical would have time to #%#* around with your mindless adds??? I immediately UNINSTALLED this ridiculous toy of any idea and went with a more sophisticated serious calculator. No company with any level of respect for its users would REPEATEDLY interrupt someone's calculations ONLY TO CONSTANTLY HARASS YOU AND REDIRECT THE USER OFF THE SCREEN AND LAUNCH THEM OVER TO SOME STUPID APP ADVERTISEMENT!!!!!!! Do you think people who are calculating have time to be launched off into oblivion?????? I deleted this garbage asap and left my first review ever simply because I hated this experience so bad. And Because you disrespected my time so greatly launching me off 6 times in 4minutes!!! I absolutely WILL NOT EEEEEVER SUPPORT YOUR RETARDED APP AND PAY ANYTHING TO SUCH A HALF BAKED COMPANY. Maybe had one advertisement per visit popped up like any reasonable app does I would have supported your cause. No problem, but because you're a mindless greedy disrespectful start up who harasses your users time, I will not give you ish. I've never had such an irate irritating annoying time on any app like this one. I hate this calculator and will absolutely make a point to talk trash about it to everyone, just because. Because you deserve thst. 8 adds in total in under 5min. An ad popped up every few seconds. To me that means your product is trash and deserves to be trashed. Whatever yaw did to up the advertisement anti where now you got garbage popping up every few seconds just cost you a customer. And found you a passionate HATER!
