When i first got the app early last year, i was obsessed. The filter was quite annoying though but the app was so fun, the dialogue was great, the sentences and overall execution of portraying various personas at once was really amazing! the memory of the bots were a bit bad, but after rewinding and reexplaining you’d continue as normal. Until *that* incident happened and the performance declined severely. the bots responses were overall lazy and not interesting. I left the app shortly after the decline and searched for others. I recently just came back to the app after being told that the filter was removed. the app has gotten WAYY better now!! The bots have drastically improved again and the experience is really fun and refreshing. My only issue is the repetitive nature of the bots, it gets really boring and annoying but overall great work on the app!! i cant wait for more features and improvements!!

A: Advertisements on apps are inevitable, but this app has advertisements that are extremely in your face, hurting experience B: AI is a lot worse than it was previously. With the release of Pipsqueak 2, quality of chats has gone sharply down. While it is better at some things, many people (including myself) find that it lacks personality (important for an AI roleplay app), does far too much narration and sounds a lot like a standard AI, at least in comparison to before where there was personalityC: Lots of new features that are not extremely useful. I find that the app is looking to be too much of a jack of all trades. The apps primary appeal is in AI roleplay and communication, where you speak to characters. Any other features are extra costs as few people use the features and are compelled to use the app because of the features. Therefore it is easy to argue that focusing more resources on the AI itself is more effective, as chat quality is more enticing than being able to phone them or generate images.D: Restrictions are quite restrictive. Some restrictions are fine, especially since before it was not an 18+ app. But now that in many areas one requires an ID card, restrictions are not helpful nor necessary and at times significantly hinders chat quality. This is also hurting the app as there are many alternatives that do not have restrictions, and overbearing restrictions can very easily push users to alternatives.

Tell me why when just starting the conversation and having a simple introduction from the bot it gives the against community guidelines then later on proceeds not even far that I got timed out of taking to characters for 24hours over something as ridiculous as introducing myself to the plot story. Having filters pop up like this for simple small things is becoming ridiculously annoying and frustrating because ever since this has been starting it’s been getting worse and worse and now I’m practically locked out of conversation with characters for 24 hours over something small. You making your app more strict is only going to make it worse for us users to go find other apps for this is out of hand. And the fact that this app is generally good but the filters are ruining it. I’m getting really annoyed as I keep getting put on a time out for 24 hours over the most basic and simplest thing. This is reaching a point where I can’t be bothered to wait 24hours to get back on the conversation because I’m afraid I’ll be put on a time out again. What’s more annoying and frustrating is that this is a good nice app and it’s really good but these filters and against community guidelines thing is getting annoying and out of hand. Fix your bloody app if you still want to make an income because people are starting to get annoyed about this too and finding other apps. 🙄🙄

The app was good and fun in 2022 but now because of this “update” it wont allow to talk to bots that the app thinks is “inappropriate for people under the age of 18”. Because of this it doesn’t make the app enjoyable anymore. The filter isn’t any better either, because of the filter i get short replies from the bots and when i give a hug to a bot the filter would activate, which i find annoying. Please Character AI, if you care about your user and your app you would listen to yours user and realize that these so called “updates” are actually ruining the experience your app once had (ya I understand that you want to protect those under the agr of 18 but ive seen adults complain about these “updates” (and this is coming from a teenager who is just trying to escape from reality and have a role play and experience what it would be like to be in a relationship with the same gender when i cant do it in real life)). Really Character AI team these things you are doing to the app is causing its downfall if you care about your user you would listen to the requests for toning down the filter and getting rid of this “you are under the age of 18, we are going to filter all the bots we think its inappropriate”. And if you are reading this actually attempt to send a proper reply (i know you wont)
