I have to apologize to the Crunchyroll team for my previous review which was one star. I complained that the ads were too much and the region locked situation was making me burst with anger. Most of these things have changed because I had a problem on my side and I used a new VPN to watch all the best shows and honestly, it’s quite amazing. The User interface is friendly. The graphics are clean and spectacular. The ads, I will admit, are a bit annoying from time to time, but I believe that in time Crunchyroll will fix their ad situation. Again, I am sorry for ranting at the Crunchyroll team, I have had the best experience watching on Crunchyroll, and I can’t wait to see future updates to make the streaming service even better, thank you.

1. Profiles - It really makes no sense that we can pay for a higher subscription to allow multiple devices to stream at the same time, but no one can use their own profiles. At the very best we have to manage a watchlist all the time. Since someone else in the same house uses the same account at the same time, my watch history is completely ruined, and i have to go and find the show I was watching. Very unfriendly experience. 2. Video quality / resolution - You cannot select a video quality unless you use the browser. The biggest reason for getting a subscription is to watch crunchyroll directly on your tv. For a subscription like Netflix which has local caches all over the world, there is very little lag between auto-switching video quality, with very little buffering, so a resolution setting isn’t as important. But since crunchyroll does not have the same worldwide reach, it really doesn’t make sense that we can’t choose our own video quality, because the auto switching on crunchyroll is very very lagged. Not a great experience.

Crunchyroll is a great anime watching platform but it suffers a few problems. The main one being the fact that it’s missing a few seasons, i wanted to start watching blue exorcist in the late 2025 but i couldn’t cuz it only has 1 season, and i had to watch the first two seasons of food wars on a different platform so i could catch up with the seasons available on the app. I know it’s not a major problem but it would be cool if u fixed it, unless nobody was watching them so you just took em out.

I just downloaded crunchyroll and I found an episode I was previously watching on another platform in which I had to skip 10 minutes into and since then it’s endless adverts. I stopped watching after 5 because it’s driving me insane. I can’t even watch the episode. Premium I am unable to afford so that’s not an option, but at this point they might as well make it so that you can only watch on crunchyroll as long as you pay, because it become difficult to enjoy the episode with so many adverts. I wouldn’t have minded if there was an advert at the beginning in the middle and at the end, as I know the creators need compensation. But it’s just plain ridiculous. And it isn’t even other brands, it’s crunchyroll adverts advertising other anime.
