Buggy

The app on both the iPhone and Apple Watch can be buggy. It’s hard to rely on them. Even vacation mode didn’t work—the ecobee followed the usual schedule. And the Apple Watch app is limited—comfort settings and quick changes are not available to select.

Smart thermostats don’t connect

Their support replies come after days and are mostly unhelpful. You report issues and are told that’s how it works. They don’t take feedback and have their own way of thinking it seems. It may work for a certain number of countries but their presets and settings are unhelpful in a desert country. Their smart thermostats also don’t connect. I’ve tried over and over multiple times but the app refuses to find them even though the main thermostat says a thermostat is trying to connect and I should follow steps on the phone. Why not just add the ability directly to the thermostat instead!?
