Solstice v3.3 has been optimised for iPhone Duo. You can now reorder your saved locations by dragging them.

Solstice 3.2 is now available in Arabic, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish. The charts have a new sky. Its colours are derived from the sun's altitude and the way the atmosphere scatters light, rather than from a fixed set of gradients, so sunrise, sunset, and twilight are closer to the sky outside. Time Travel has a redesigned control bar on macOS and visionOS. The globe in "About solstices and equinoxes" is now a true 3D model on iPhone, iPad, and Mac as well as Vision Pro. This update also fixes default locations reappearing after you delete them, location permission on macOS, and solar event dates for regions that use a non-Gregorian calendar.

Solstice 3.1.1 updates the classic chart for a more accurate depiction of the sun’s path throughout the year by charting the sun’s altitude instead of its position relative to sunrise/sunset.

Widgets and Apple Watch complications have been completely re-written in Solstice 3.1 to improve reliability and performance. Your existing widgets may need reconfiguring or removing and re-adding to your Home Screen, Lock Screen, or Apple Watch face. A new small appearance for the sundial widget has also been added.

Solstice 3.0.4 updates widget configuration to improve reliability and performance. Please note that this update may require reconfiguration for widgets that are configured with a custom location.

Solstice v3.0.3 addresses several bugs related to widget freshness, widget reliability on Apple Watch, and notification scheduling issues.

v3.0.2 fixes several small issues related to Time Travel, solar charts, and widgets.

v3.0.1 of Solstice fixes an issue that prevented the solar chart Home Screen widget from appearing. Additional Italian translations have also been added.

Solstice 3.0 is more customisable than ever, with a new circular chart and three appearances for Time Travel: Classic, Compact, and Hidden. Solstice’s appearance can be configured from the in-app settings or by long-pressing on the chart in the location detail view. The new circular chart is also available as a large widget for your Home Screen.

Solstice v2.4 brings a vibrant, updated design to the iOS and iPad list view, compatibility with the latest design language, and simplified Time Travel on Apple Watch.

Solstice 2.3 adds a new interface for Time Travel that is always available across the app for quick and consistent access. Animations have been dialled down to improve app responsiveness, and some other minor bugs have been fixed. Version 2.3.1 adds missing translations for some new features.

v1.4.4 of Solstice fixes an issue on M1 Macs which caused the app to crash when the location picker is opened.

Version 1.4.3 of Solstice fixes a bug which prevented the Countdown widget from updating at appropriate times. Despite its familiar appearance, version 1.4 of Solstice is chock-full of improvements and new features. **Onboarding and Location** - The onboarding screen has been redesigned to allow new users to choose to use the app without turning on location access - Additionally, you can now use the app after revoking location access. It will continue to use your last cached location, or you can enter a location manually. Note that on watchOS, location access is always required. **Notifications** - You can now schedule notifications at a time relative to sunrise/sunset. For example, “15 minutes before sunrise”. **Widgets** - The countdown widget has a new design that cycles between different sky colours throughout the day. - Widgets have been updated to handle large dynamic type sizes **Bug Fixes** - The app has previously marked the June and December solstices by their dates alone, rather than their exact times. This has been fixed in this version, counting down to the exact time of the next/previous solstice. - The Apple Watch complications did not reliably update to show the most recent data. This has been fixed. - General performance and reliability improvements.
