Weird, wonderful and strangely addictive.

I really enjoyed the book, although at times I felt that too many conflicting story plot layers and characters competed for attention. The characters are so curiously interesting, and the plot keeps pulling you in, sometimes exhaustive, but mostly intriguing through a fantastical world of magical well, characters with paranormal powers and an unlikely protagonist that displays attributes of schizophrenia tinged with a power to escape the mundane and into a dark realm. I would suggest you pick up Wild Sheep Dreams first before delving into this one. It’ll easy you in to Murakami’s vivacious and surreal writing.

Gosh! How do I even begin?After finishing the Bobiverse series in 2020, I thought I’d never be able to find something equally as good. Enter USS Hamilton!Hardy’s presence is also a comical relief to the seriousness (and something touching and emotional) scenes. Meanwhile, even when a scene is so serious or touching, the author seems to always find the most absurd ways to make his reader(s) laugh. Hardy’s scenes are nothing short of amazing, while also being hilarious and ridiculous at the same time 😂😂Though very good and at almost at par with the Bobiverse book 1, I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 because I was kept longing for longer intimate scene between the Quintos and the mysterious lady. But all in all, it a wonderful read indeed. I Iistened to it while reading along on my Kindle on my phone and managed to finish in 4 days <3
Educational, entertaining, thought provoking

I’ve learnt things in this story that I never knew about Malcom X, the book has give me a much clearer idea of who her was before the Malcom speeches I grew up familiar with. Also if his journey into his faith outside of the Nation of Islam. I’m blown away by his insight, foresight and objectivity. Now for the narration by Laurence Fishbourne.....Hugely entertaining, captivating and I would say narrated in a way that makes listening to this book better than watching a movie on this subject. Heavy topic, read with passion and vigour in a non awkward way. It’s never depression or too heavy to continue. Brilliant !
