Blocade – Strategy Board Game
Blockade duel: walls vs rivals
Free · In-App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
New: widgets. Your rank on your Home Screen or Lock Screen, the player right above you and the points you need to pass them. Updates after every ranked game.
Outsmart your rival in a race across the board — then wall them out. Blocade is a fast, brainy turn-based strategy duel: every turn, either advance your pawn toward the far side or drop a wall to block your opponent's path. Plan two moves ahead, trap them in a detour, and sprint home. Easy to learn, genuinely hard to master.
PLAY HOW YOU WANT
• Ranked online — get matched with real players in seconds, climb the rating ladder, and prove it.
• Beat the bot — pick your difficulty, from a gentle warm-up to an opponent that thinks several moves deep.
• Play a friend — share a private code and duel anyone, anywhere, or pass one phone back and forth.
• Puzzles — handcrafted positions, plus a fresh Daily Puzzle every day to sharpen your tactics.
TOURNAMENTS
• Royale — a live bracket every day. Reserve your seat, win your board, take the crown.
• Knockouts — host your own tournament. Share one code, friends join free, last one standing wins.
LEARN AND IMPROVE
• Game Review grades every move after the match — see your best plays and your blunders, chess-style.
• Pick your coach — Selah, Kai, Vale and more, each with their own voice — and they'll break down what went right and wrong. Unlock new coaches as you build your streak.
• Friendly and Assisted modes let you take hints and undo while you learn; Challenge mode is the pure, ranked test.
BUILT TO FEEL GOOD
• Clean, tactile board with smooth drag-to-place walls.
• Board themes you earn by playing, and light and dark modes that follow your system.
• Quick matches you can finish in a few minutes.
• Share a clip of your best win straight from the result screen.
MAKE IT A DAILY HABIT
• Crack the Daily Puzzle and build a day streak — optional reminders help you keep it alive.
• Your coach greets you with a quick challenge each time you return.

more Widgets are here. Put your rank on your Home Screen or Lock Screen: your spot on the leaderboard, the player right above you and how many points you need to pass them. It updates after every ranked game and tells you when the Royale starts.
Also new:
• A fresh intro video
• A cleaner tab bar
• A warning when a bad connection is eating your clock
• Game Review shows your key moments and lets you retry them
• Knockouts are simpler: no Ready button, your seat is yours until you leave
• Unblock players in Settings → Account → Blocked players
• Contact Support right from the More tab
3.8.0 11 Oct
Pass & Play
Two players, one phone. Lay it flat on the table between you: each side of the board gets its own name, blocks and resign flag, all facing its player. Play a series, keep score, and tap Run it back for the next game. Your friend doesn't need an account. Find it in Play → More, or at the bottom of Home.
Royale
• 128 seats a night, with a new bracket map from the Round of 128 to the final
• The champion earns +100 rating and the runner-up +30, on top of +5 for every board won
• A no-show win still pays +5 when you showed up
Online play
• Matches hold up better on a weak connection
• Rematch is fair: Accept only starts a game when your rival is still there, and a rematch nobody showed up for is unrated
• Leaving the search cancels it properly
Friends
Turning off "Friends can watch my games" now also hides Watch on your friends' games, and asks before it turns off.
Fixes
The share-your-win card no longer pops up between Royale and Knockout rounds. A refused Royale join now says Royale, not Knockout.
3.7.0 8 Oct
Premove
Queue your next pawn steps while the rival is still thinking, and they play the instant their move lands. Tap the tile ahead of your pawn, tap more to lay a run, or tap the far edge of the board and Blocade lays the shortest route through the walls for you. Every step is re-checked the moment the rival moves: if their wall cuts your route, the run cancels on the spot and it is simply your move. Built for Sprint and Royale, where the clock decides. Off by default: turn it on from the Options menu in a match, or in Settings → Match & Chat.
Your friends, ranked
The Leaderboard now has a Friends view next to Global. You and your friends ranked by wins against real players this week, reset every Monday. Six seats: any left open are an invite. The line at the bottom names the friend just above you, so you know who to challenge.
Blocade in three more languages
French, Russian and Arabic join English, Spanish and Portuguese. Pick yours under Settings → Language.
Royale
• Reserve a seat and your phone reminds you itself: 5 minutes before the start and again at 1 minute, whether or not push is on
• The bell is now a daily alarm at doors time, set on your phone, so it works in every time zone
• iPhone: while the doors are open, a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island counts down to the start and shows seats filling. Tap it to walk in
• If notifications are off, the reserved pill says so before you rely on it
• 64 seats a night, up from 32
Account
• Log out lives in Settings → Account
• Blocade no longer signs you out on its own when your phone's clock is wrong or the connection is flaky. If the clock is off, Home tells you
Also new
• Screens stay awake on every live board and in the Royale and Knockout rooms
• Kof holds his goal row when he is ahead, and Nightshift bots keep their goal-band walls until they matter
• A Join Discord link on More. The community has moved there from Telegram
Fixes
The tutorial's ghost hand places its block under the finger again. The Nightshift streak lock says Plus, not Pro. Invite screens no longer promise Plus days to members who can't earn them.
3.6.0 25 Sept

Ranked and matches

• Leaving an offline game in progress asks first
Also new
• New sound chips: finish him (Plus) and i got this (free)
• Save clip right from the post-game card
• Nightshift bots wall smarter, and Kof mixes up its opening
Fixes
Online games no longer stall when a move gets lost, clips use your chosen move sound, backing out of the Royale bracket works properly, Royale days read correctly, and bots wait for the VS intro before moving.
3.5.0 17 Sept
A new board to earn
Porcelain: a white board with hairline lines, glass pawns and a silver rim. Yours to keep at 25 ranked games, win or lose. Neon Arcade still comes at 5.
The Royale runs on who shows up
Be in the app when the doors open and your seat lights green. A dark seat is handed back at the clock. When your board is ready, a "You're up" banner takes you straight to it, and starting any other match in the last minutes before the Royale asks first.
Knockout seats light up
The bracket starts when every seat is lit, and the host decides what to do about anyone who stepped away. Invites now wait for you under Friends, rooms default to 4 seats, and a host can set a rating floor.
Know when a friend is watching
When a friend opens your live game, a small note tells you who's there. It shows once and then gets out of the way. Only friends are announced, and only if you've left "Friends can watch my games" on.
Awards announce themselves
A banner for each new award, medals struck in four metals, and three new marks: your first Brilliant wall, Knockout wins, and every Royale night you took a seat.
Sound
Moves sound like a piece set down on wood. Classic is one tap away under Sound & Haptics.
Fixed
History rows open the replay, not the profile. Cancelling your own Knockout no longer asks twice. Replays now show the chat while you scrub.
3.3.0 4 Sept
Host your own tournament. Introducing Knockouts: pick a size, pick a clock, and share one code — the bracket runs itself, round after round, until one of you takes the crown. Play it rated and every match counts toward your real rating. Hosting is a Plus perk; joining is free for everyone.
Watching comes to Blocade too. Tap any match on the Royale bracket and spectate it live, move by move, with sound — and watch your friends' games as well: friendlies in real time, ranked on a short delay. Rather play unobserved? There's a toggle for that. The nightly cup also grew to 32 players, and the bracket became a living map — every match a dot, live games burning gold, your road traced through the night.
Also in this update:
• Puzzles are now full sequences — you play, the rival answers, you finish the job. New beginner duos ease you in, and the points land right with the piece.
• The deep bot tiers are now earned. A daily play streak opens Advanced at day 7 and climbs the Nightshift summit from day 14 — or step up instantly with Plus. They're worth the climb: a new wall-generation system spots blocks they used to miss, with every move under about 1.5 seconds. Stronger and quicker at once.
• Your profile got a full redesign — puzzles, Royale, and bot progress each in their own card, for you and for any player you tap.
• Reach 5 ranked matches and the Neon Arcade board is yours to keep — a placement gift, on the house.
• Invite friends, earn Plus: each friend who joins adds 2 more days of Blocade Plus, stackable up to 7 days.
• Shared clips now carry the whole moment: chat bubbles, coach voices, brilliant-move zaps, and win crowns.
• When your wall stops someone cold, you'll feel it — a crack on brilliant blocks, and move grades shown for both players.
• Your first ranked loss now costs just 1 point. Everyone starts somewhere.
• A cleaner Play hub, and a reorganized Friends screen with Friends and Recent opponents in their own tabs.
• Fixed rare crashes on launch and match entry, a startup freeze on some devices, unresponsive taps on open lobbies, and a result-card bounce after Royale games. Game review also grades quiet walls more fairly.
3.2.0 1 Sept
Royale countdown on the Play hub
Blocade Royale now lives on the Play hub with a live countdown, so you can see
when tonight's bracket opens without going looking for it. The countdown
tightens as the final hour runs down and shows how many players have boarded.
Chat sounds
Quick-chat is still a fixed tray of preset phrases with no free typing, but five
chips now make a noise: "bruh", "fahhh!!", "let me cook", "v-boom" and
"aura -1000". Each one is marked with a pulsing ring, so you know what's about
to be loud before you tap it. "aura -1000" is free for everyone; the other four
sounds are a Plus perk. Muting still only silences your opponent, never your own
chips. Locks on the chips you haven't unlocked are clearer, Plus members get
creature bubble skins, and the full phrase set is on by default, with an off
switch in Settings under Chat.
Bots that actually block
The four easiest bots (Pebble, Momo, Tuk and Juno) can finally place walls. They
were never able to block at all, which is why a beginner's first game used to
finish in half the moves of everyone else's, and their descriptions have been
corrected to match how they now play. The rest no longer burn moves on walls
that change nothing on the board, they defend corner traps properly, and the
difficulty matching holds steadier when you're on a winning run. New players get
a fairer opening ladder instead of being thrown at bots well above their level.
Honest friend status
Leaving the app marks you offline right away instead of showing you around for
another minute. A friend who has only just closed the app is labelled "Just
left" — usually the best person to challenge after whoever is actually online.
Streak freezes you can see
Freezes you've banked now show up as a frozen flame on the home screen, so you
know your streak is covered before you skip a day.
Clearer ad privacy
If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", the app no longer shows you an advertising
consent form at all, and ads are never personalised. Where consent does apply,
you can change or withdraw it any time from Settings under Legal & Support.
Also fixed
Clips you share keep their sound. Match clips were exporting silent for some
players.
The ranked leaderboard hides players who have gone inactive, so the board shows
who is actually competing.
Your opponent's name fits on the match screen instead of being cut off.
Replays pause when you leave the screen.
The friends list stops offering to add people you're already friends with.
Referral rewards no longer go missing on install.
3.1.1 25 Aug
"What's New"
We've been busy making online matches feel more alive:
• Chat that starts itself. Your opponent now breaks the ice, and a
quick tip shows you how to fire back — good game, nice move, or a
little trash talk, all one tap away.
• Your coach reads the room. Win or lose, they've got something to
say about how the match actually played out.
• Gentler ranked. A rough loss won't tank your rating as hard as it
used to.
• A fresh look for Blocade Plus, more reliable game reviews, and the
usual polish and fixes.

2.0.0 13 Jul
Blocade just got a major update!
Now in your language. Blocade is fully translated into Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese — not just the menus, but everything: in-match tips, the block tray, results screens, post-game review, your match history, and the daily puzzles. Wherever you play, Blocade now speaks your language.
Brilliant moves finally feel brilliant. Pull off a game-changing wall — the kind that forces your rival all the way across the board — and the whole screen erupts with a lightning strike, a custom rumble you can feel, and a satisfying new sound. Get walled hard yourself and you'll feel the impact land, too. Every match now opens with a crisp new start cue, so each game begins with a little spark.
Notifications that respect your time. We rebuilt reminders from the ground up with a smarter engine that reaches out at the right moment and never floods your lock screen. Notifications now come with eye-catching images, and there's a brand-new in-app News inbox so you'll always know what's new, what's coming, and what we're working on next.
Introducing Blocade Plus. Support the game and stand out from the crowd with the new Plus badge — shown proudly on your profile, across the leaderboards, and next to your name in every match.
A better online experience. Matches are more reliable than ever, with a new safety net that keeps games in sync even on a shaky connection, smoother rematches so you can run it back in a tap, and cleaner opponent info while you play.
Polished everywhere you look. The leaderboard now shows gleaming medal coins for the top three and keeps your own rank in view as you scroll. On top of that, we squashed dozens of bugs across puzzles, online play, and accounts to make everything feel faster and smoother.
Thanks for playing Blocade! Have an idea for the game? Vote in the new in-app polls — we're building this with you.
