Nibroute fits stroked SVG geometry to a physical page, assigns colors to numbered pens and prepares real HPGL, SVG and PDF files. Keep the original, compare pen-up travel and reuse named setups without repeating the preparation.
PREPARE THE PAGE
Choose A4, Letter, square or custom paper from 20 to 600 mm. Adjust margins and fit, rotate in quarter turns or mirror horizontally. Pinch the physical page to inspect it. Placement uses drawing bounds, not the SVG’s original printed size.
ASSIGN AND COMPARE
Map up to eight solid stroke colors to pens 1–8, or exclude an ink. Switch between Ink and Travel. Shorter travel groups by assigned pen and tries a nearest-end route, reversing strokes where useful. The route is applied only when total pen-up distance falls. Geometry vertices remain unchanged. Distances include the start and return to the origin; no time estimate or globally optimal route is promised.
SAVE YOUR PREPARATION
Keep twelve local sources, twenty named setups per source and project notes. Rename, duplicate or delete sources. Load, rename or delete setups. Reopen the app to continue from your saved source and settings.
DELIVER REAL FILES
Build a ZIP containing Plot.hpgl, physical-size Plot.svg, a two-page vector Proof.pdf, byte-identical Original.svg, per-stroke CSV, settings/setup JSON parameter records and a readme. Preview the proof and share the ZIP or individual files with the native system sheet. JSON records are not an importable library backup.
INPUT AND PRECISION
UTF-8 SVG up to 2 MB, 1,000 strokes, eight colors and 200,000 sampled points. Supports paths including Bézier and elliptical arc commands, lines, polylines, polygons, square-corner rectangles, circles, ellipses and affine transforms. Set fill to none. Curves use 32, 64 or 128 samples; there is no tolerance guarantee or exact curve preservation. HPGL-1 coordinates use 40 units per mm, rounded to 0.025 mm.
Text, raster images, use elements, CSS classes/stylesheets, filled shapes, gradients, clipping, masks, filters, dashed strokes, markers, external resources and nested viewports are rejected. Stroke width and cap appearance are not reproduced: files contain centerlines.
DEVICE WORKFLOW
Nibroute prepares files. It does not connect to or transmit to a plotter, calibrate hardware or guarantee model compatibility. Verify your device’s hard limits, supported HPGL commands and pen setup, then test a small job in your own compatible workflow. No cutting, CNC or laser output. Plot packets are limited to 60 MB.
Start with an empty library or explicitly open the original Contour study example. One purchase, no subscription, ads, account or analytics. Sources stay on your device unless you choose to share them.
