Tags work like folders. In the sidebar and in the Tags list, #work/clients sits under work. Open a tag with the arrow to see the tags under it. Tap a tag to list its notes, and a parent lists the notes of the tags under it too. A note tagged twice, in its text and in Finder, is listed once. On iPad you can drag a note from Files onto a tag to give it that tag. Long-press a note in a tag's list and choose Remove #tag to take it away. In Settings, Sidebar opens in, choose Tags to open a vault on its tags. The popups look like iPhone popups. The slash menu, the block and link menus, the pickers, the link card and the Add Link dialog wear one shape: the system material, the rounded corner, one row height, one button size. They stay out from under the keyboard and the bar, the dialogs sit centred, and the link card is the link's domain with Edit, Open and close. The start screen has the Mac's doors: New Note, Create a New Vault, Open a Folder, Open a Single File. Home, in the vault switcher and in the menu at the top right, brings you back to it with your recent vaults. Room at the sides. The text has Notes' margins on iPhone, so the drag handle on the left and the comment dots on the right can be tapped, on a long note too. Tables and diagrams. Select every cell of a table and Delete removes it, a whole column removes the column, a whole row removes the row. A new table opens with the cursor in its first cell. Mermaid, Typst and Excalidraw blocks can be typed into again, a new Mermaid block opens with the cursor in its source, and a typo shows one error line under the card. Also in this release: - Links to a heading land on the heading: [[Note#Heading]], [[#Heading]], and Bear's [[Note/Heading]] all work. - A note not yet on this device opens as downloading, never as an empty note, whichever cloud keeps the vault. - Delete is undoable everywhere. In a vault your cloud drive keeps for you, a note could not go to the Trash at all. Wander now keeps its own trash inside the vault for those, so Undo still brings the note back. - A formula right under a line of text draws as math. No blank line is needed above it. - A note that will not open now says why. It used to say only that it failed. - The editor comes back when iOS stops its page while you return from a widget or a shortcut. It could stay blank until you relaunched. - When a note's first heading no longer matches its name, a quiet band offers to rename it. The file moves only when you tap. - The outline reads the raw view too, and tapping a heading lands on that line. - Capture shows no destination switch when New Note is the only place a capture can go. - Today and Inbox stay off until you turn them on in Settings, Features. - On iPad with a keyboard, Open Folder keeps Cmd-O to itself. - The feedback form says why Send is off: add an email to hear back, or send anonymously.

A new start screen. Wander's own icon, your recent vaults in one card with each name on a single line, and the four ways in, Create a New Vault, Open a Folder, New Document and Open a Single File, as rows with an info button that explains each one in two sentences. Edit a spreadsheet in its grid. Tap a cell in a .csv or .tsv and type; Return keeps it and moves down, Done puts the keyboard away, and Previous and Next walk the cells. Press and hold a column title to rename it. Until now a tap on a cell did nothing at all. Also in this release: - On an iPad in Split, an edit in the grid shows in the raw text beside it straight away. - A file too large to open whole stays read-only, and a tap on a cell says so instead of doing nothing. - A vault at the root of a cloud provider's folder is named the way Files names it, not by an id.

Open a note, go back, open another: the new note appears in place, and only it. The slide used to run on the previous note's page, with its selection still showing, and the keyboard could rise for that page for a moment before the new one loaded. iPad: the menu bar. Swipe down from the top edge, or move the pointer there, and every command is listed: File, Edit, Format and View, with the same names and keys as the Mac. Tapping below the text of a short note puts the caret at the end and brings up the keyboard. A fresh daily note could look uneditable until you tapped its heading. An empty note no longer scrolls. Also: the spreadsheet grid has a margin on the phone, the graph's filter menu shows what you tapped, and file rows in a folder list are tighter. On iPad, a file opened beside the sidebar no longer runs under it, and the Info panel opens as a sheet when the note would be squeezed. Also in this release: - The vault's name at the top is a menu: switch to another recent vault, or open a folder or a file. Settings › Vaults lists them too. - Wander can be the default app for markdown: Files › Open With › Always, and every .md from Mail or Files opens here. - Deleting a note shows Undo for a moment, and shake to undo works too. When a file cannot come back, the message says why. - Opening a note lands at its top, with no caret and no keyboard. - Settings: the Restore button beside the patron amounts stays on one line.

Typing a markdown link makes a link. `[text](url)` stayed as plain text, and the brackets were then escaped into the file, where no amount of clicking could turn it back. A reader lost the links in a whole note that way. Wander no longer quits when a note changes on another device. With a note open and its Info panel showing, a file arriving from iCloud could close the app outright. Also in this release: - Tapping a search result opens it. On iPhone the note never opened: the search closed and you were left where you started. - Move a note to another folder on iPhone. Long-press offered Rename and Delete but never Move to. - Opening a .base file no longer freezes Wander in an iCloud folder. - Maps answer a tap. Tapping a place selects it and shows its name and where it is, and tapping a route selects the route. - A plain URL stays a plain URL, instead of gaining angle brackets you never typed. - Copying out of Wander gives clean markdown. - The sidebar looks like a sidebar on iPad, and the Help and Docs are reachable again from a single open file. - Typing in a very long note is faster, and grey text is one grey.

Notes kept in iCloud that are not on this device yet now say they are downloading, instead of showing a frozen screen while they wait. If a download cannot finish, it says that too. Creating, renaming, deleting and duplicating update the screen you are looking at. They always changed the file on disk; the browser often kept showing the old name or the deleted row, so a rename looked like it had done nothing. Also in this release: - Long-press a file or folder in the browser for the same actions the sidebar offers, and swipe to rename or delete. - New Folder scrolls to the folder it just made and selects it. - In landscape, text no longer runs under the notch. - The Files browser can be closed again — "New Document…" and "Open a Single File…" now have a Cancel. - Appearance settings work when you opened a single file rather than a vault. - The star action is called Add to Favorites everywhere. - File rows are easier to read: the date and first line under each name are darker. - Edit a typst document right on its typeset page. It lives under Features in Settings.

Wander is free and stays free. Settings now has a Become a Patron option: a one-time gift toward its development, if you'd like to give one. It unlocks nothing, and everything in the app stays exactly as it was. Also in this release: - iPad keyboard shortcuts, matching the Mac: Cmd-1, 2, 3 for headings, Cmd-J for code, Control-Cmd-Left and Right to move through your daily notes. - Rename or move a note and every link that pointed at it follows. History records it in plain words, like "links updated: Sync.md to Sync New.md". - Two notes with the same name in different folders are never guessed at: the link stays exactly as you wrote it. - Saving a long note is instant, and typing near initials like S.W.F. or snake_case words no longer rewrites them with stray backslashes. - A file too large to edit, like a data dump with no blank lines, opens read-only as plain text instead of hanging.

Settings, reorganized: one list in the same order as the Mac's settings window, with your vault's own pages under its name. Appearance opens as a half sheet with the note visible above it, repainting live as you tap. Make wander yours: - Seven fonts to write in: System, New York, Iowan Old Style, Georgia, Charter, Palatino and Avenir Next. - Background and text color, remembered separately for Light and Dark. Pick a Sepia preset or your own colors; flipping the mode never loses the other side's choice. - Text Size controls that apply live. - None of this writes into your notes. A font or a color is an app choice; your files stay byte-identical. Also in this release: - Deleting a note can no longer freeze the app. When the file service gets stuck on one file, wander now waits a few seconds at most and then simply does the work, the way the Files app would. The same protection covers creating, renaming, moving, duplicating and saving. - Your iPhone and iPad now save on the same clock as the Mac: shortly after you pause typing, never more than about a second behind, so edits reach iCloud and your other devices faster. - An image you paste reaches Wander Cloud right away, so the web stops showing a broken picture next to fresh text.

- The graph came to touch. Open Graph from the sidebar's menu and your notes and tags are a living map of your links, the same picture as the Mac. Tap a note and its neighborhood lights up, drag one to pin it, pinch to zoom. - Tables can be edited on a phone. Tap any cell and finger sized row and column handles appear: add a row above or below, add a column either side, or delete either. Adding or deleting a column had no way in at all before this. - The block menu came to touch. Tap a paragraph and its handle appears in the margin, with duplicate, delete, fold, copy link to block and copy as embed. Linking to a single paragraph was impossible on a phone until now. - Your notes follow the system Text Size and grow with it, live. VoiceOver speaks every icon only button instead of saying "button". Reduce Motion is honored, and low contrast colors now meet the readable bar. - Your trips are a map on your phone too. A note that names places opens as a map, each day its own colour and numbered route, and tapping any pin takes you to the line it came from. - Browse a folder as columns on iPad, with the note rendered in the trailing pane and the arrow keys to walk it. - Typst on touch: type # or @ for a row of completions above the keyboard, and tap an underlined error to read its message. - Light or Dark is now wander's own setting, and Invert Page Colors works for PDFs and typeset pages. - Leaving the app during a big vault scan is safe now. The scan stops cleanly and finishes when you come back.

Your strokes stay beside your files; the PDF is never modified. - Share the file itself from the note's ... menu: AirDrop, Messages, Mail. - Copy or share a note as GitHub, Reddit, CommonMark or Obsidian markdown, or as one self-contained HTML page. - Map files are listed and open as their text instead of hiding. - Tag and [[ suggestions no longer come up empty on a slow start. - The share sheet, widget and Siri work with a vault stored on the device.

- Activity: open the info panel on a note to see how long you have spent in it, a bar per day for the week, with opens and total time. It updates as you write. - Review: your recent days, each folder with the time it got and its files underneath. Tap a file to reopen it where you left off. The same view the Mac has. - Search results show the focused time for files you have really spent time in. - Your iPhone and iPad have been recording this since 1.8. Now they show it. - Settings, Features: Math, Citations, CSV, Finder tags and PDF export appear as real rows. They shipped a while ago but the pane never listed them. - Daily note and Inbox no longer appear twice in Settings.

- Folder views with real previews: List, Gallery, or Icons, remembered per folder. - Attachments browser: every image, video, PDF and csv in your vault, in one place. - Folder icons and colors, synced with the vault. - Long press an image for Small or Large, width, caption, rename, delete. - Video and audio play inline. Insert Photo handles camera photos now. - Multi-file typst projects: #include and #bibliography resolve, errors point at the file and line. - Raw markdown, typst source, and csv columns are syntax highlighted. - Help & Docs in the app, on the start screen and in Settings. - Bigger text in the outline, info panel, and menus. - Fixes: rename for single files, Done closes Settings, clearer start screen.

CSV files open as a grid: sortable columns, aligned numbers, and a raw text view you can edit and save. On iPad, Split shows the grid and the text side by side. Very large files open instantly, showing the beginning of the file. Section rail: heading marks along the right edge of a note. Tap one to jump to that section. Toggle in Settings under Editor. Mermaid diagrams render in a pan-and-zoom canvas: drag to pan, pinch to zoom. Big diagrams keep a sensible height instead of taking over the screen.

Drop files into notes: markdown imports and links, PDFs land in attachments, images keep their names. Paste from a PDF reads like text. Typst: live preview while editing math, packages download once and render offline, share .typ as PDF, outline and word count, syntax colors, tap an error to jump to it.

Math, typst, and a lot of fixes. - Math and typst: $x$ inline and $$ blocks typeset offline by the same engine as the Mac app, and a typst code fence renders tables and layouts right in a note. .typ files open with Source and Preview, side by side on iPad, and tapping the typeset page jumps to that spot in the source. - Highlight: ==text== renders highlighted, with a highlighter button in the keyboard bar next to bold and italic. - Raw markdown: edit the plain source from the note's menu. - Insert photos: add an image from Photos or Files; it lands in attachments/ with the same naming as Mac. - Tags: a Tags list in the sidebar menu shows every tag in your vault with note counts, frontmatter tags now count alongside #tags, and the # and [[ suggestions list your vault's tags and notes. Tapping a [[link]] to a missing note creates it, block links open at the block, and a long press on a [[link]] previews the note. - Keyboard: a hide keyboard button, swipe down to dismiss, the outline no longer summons it, and menus no longer clip above it. Strikethrough, fold controls, and word count added. - Reliability: folder lists and the file browser no longer show empty, notes no longer open blank after switching, and a note edited on another device reloads on the phone instead of being overwritten; if both changed, your edits are saved as a conflict copy. - Faster on big vaults: indexing only touches changed files and survives unreadable ones, and the iCloud watcher is scoped to your vault, using far less battery.

Create, rename, and manage your notes right on iPhone and iPad: • New note or folder from the + button — long-press a folder to add one inside it • New notes name themselves: your first line becomes the filename. Rename by tapping the title; links to the note update automatically • Duplicate, delete (swipe), and share — save to Files, mail, or copy — without leaving the list • Focus and Typewriter modes, Export as PDF, and Print • Reading font, text size, and width, with a one-tap GitHub preset • Open any folder as-is — nothing extra syncs unless you turn on history & search • Search shows each note's date, pull down to refresh, and indexing is lighter and faster Thanks for using wander!

Comments come to wander on iPhone and iPad. • Select any text, tap the comment button, and leave a comment — anchored right to the words. • Tap a comment dot in the margin to open just that thread as a card — reply, resolve, or react with emoji. • See every comment in a note from the Comments tab. • Your comments live in a hidden .wander folder next to your notes: plain files that travel with your vault over iCloud, Dropbox, or git. Your markdown stays byte for byte the same. • No account, no server — comments follow wherever your folder already syncs, and each device keeps its own log, so nothing ever conflicts.

• Search your notes: tap the magnifying glass to find anything — note titles or full text, with results as you type. Recently opened notes surface first. • Fixed: notes stored in iCloud but not yet downloaded to your device no longer disappear from folders. They show a download icon, fetch automatically when you open a folder, and open instantly once downloaded. • Tags you've set on files in the Files app (or Finder on your Mac) now show up in wander, joined with your notes' #tags. • Fixed: file names no longer get clipped in the sidebar at larger text sizes. • Backlinks: see every note that links to the one you're reading.
