Tune My Forecast learns how your station's spot runs, so the coming hours and daily highs and lows fit where you actually live, in the app, widgets and on Apple Watch. • Tune for My Neighborhood shifts forecasts by how your part of town usually runs, Apple Weather included, and Station vs. Forecast shows day by day whether tuning helps. • Explore Your City's Microclimates: a live map of every station around you, a two-day replay, and your area's typical day. A sky that matches the real weather • The realistic background follows the real sky: cloud layers, rain and snow by type and rate, rainbows, sun halos, fog, haze and smoke. • Clear nights show real stars, planets and the Milky Way, with meteor showers and auroras, turned toward the best view. Two Forecast Sources • Choose your forecast source. Gold subscribers can pick Apple Weather instead of The Weather Company in Settings → Data & Layout. Pollen, air quality, history and 15-minute precipitation keep coming from The Weather Company either way. • Compare both sources side by side. The new Compare screen charts every measurement at once — two lines with the disagreement shaded between them, and paired high/low bars by day — and names the single biggest disagreement. Drag across a chart and both readings follow your finger. Works for comparing cities too. • Switch sources without leaving the forecast: a new bar at the foot of the screen carries your source, Time Machine and the comparison together, and the eye above any hourly chart overlays the second forecast. Daily reports become Smart Weather Stories • Gold members can have morning and evening report notifications written as a Smart Weather Story — the day's real story up front, tuned to your location and season, with an optional note telling it what to prioritize. Find it in Notifications → Daily Reports. Storm Tracker, up front • Track on Lock Screen from the storm itself. When a storm cell is bearing down on you, the Storm Tracker card and the storm cell notification both carry a one-tap button that turns on the Storm Intercept Live Activity. Gold, iOS 17.2 or later. • The Storm Tracker now sits directly above the precipitation chart, ahead of the alerts in force, the storm report and the day's outlook, so a storm minutes out is the first thing you see. Hide the alerts you never want • Touch and hold the X on an alert and choose Hide all — for example every Beach Hazard alert when you live inland. Dismiss the same kind twice and the card offers it. If you also get notifications for that kind of alert, the app asks whether to stop those too. Bring a type back in Settings → Forecasts → Hidden Alert Types. Widgets • Widgets flag severe weather. When a warning is in force for a widget's location, the medium and large widgets show a severity-colored badge; tap it to see the active warnings. • Widgets build their timelines about three times faster, rain bars line up with their hour columns again, and the iPad lock screen Data Point gauge renders again. Stargazing • Upcoming Sky Events — the full catalog of eclipses, meteor showers and conjunctions — is always one tap away at the bottom of the stargazing forecast, and Compare Locations now fills in Stargazing Conditions for both cities. Sync what you want • Sync Layout Across Devices, in Settings → Data & Layout, lets this iPhone or iPad keep its own data points and layout while your other devices carry on sharing theirs. Severe weather on your widgets • Widgets now show a warning badge when a severe weather warning is active for their location. Tap it on a medium or large widget to see every active warning, then tap one for full details. • Weather alert notifications open details right in the app, and overlapping alerts of the same type appear separately, ordered by severity. Severe Risk • On the rare day the national outlook reaches Enhanced or higher, a Severe Risk card leads the main screen. Visualize Day • Pull down past refresh and your whole day plays out full screen — the sky, sun, stars, clouds and rain follow the forecast hour by hour, then loop. • It starts at the current hour and runs a full day forward, so you're watching the weather ahead of you rather than replaying the morning. • Share the day you just watched as a video, ready to send or post. • Put a condition icon beside the temperature in Settings › Data & Layout › Visualize Day, or switch the pull gesture off entirely and keep pull-to-refresh doing only that. Request a City Pack • Request a City now files a real request instead of opening an email. The city you're already viewing is one tap; any other city is one field. • Follow it in the pack list as it moves from Requested, to in the queue, to being created, to ready to download — and get a notification the moment it's ready. • Packs you asked for are marked with a star. Swipe to cancel a request or to remove a downloaded pack, and a request you cancel can be made again. • Ask for somewhere an existing pack already covers and you get that pack right away instead of a wait. A more realistic sky • The sun follows your location's real sunrise and sunset instead of a fixed 6am-to-6pm arc, and sets out of frame instead of disappearing at the edge of the screen. • Sky and cloud colors turn at the day's actual sunrise and sunset, and shift continuously rather than in steps. Settings, redesigned • Rows are grouped into titled cards in the order you already know them, subtitles wrap instead of truncating mid-word, and each row shows what it will do before you tap it. A scene appears automatically for the city you're viewing and steps aside when it isn't on screen. • Scenes appear the moment you open the app or switch cities, and crossfade smoothly between changes. • The background picker now leads with City Packs, and Remove All clears every download in one tap. • Don't see your city?
