Pick your interests and explore collections of feeds to find your first favorite sites. Preview stories before subscribing, or import your existing subscriptions from an OPML file.
SMOOTHER READING
This release improves iPhone rotation, iPad column layouts, and navigation between stories. It also includes fixes for image interactions and keeping your place while reading.
15.1 9 Oct
Photos now open only with a deliberate single tap, so scrolling through a story or stopping its momentum won't open the image viewer. Tapping small photos also works correctly after scrolling. This update also keeps font sizes consistent in the story settings menu.
15.0.2 30 Sept
This update fixes long pauses when swiping between stories with downloaded images, restores iPad keyboard navigation and the S shortcut for saving stories, and fixes articles staying blank when a swipe interrupts opening the reader.
You can also subscribe to a website's feed directly from Safari using the NewsBlur share extension.
15.0.1 28 Sept
NewsBlur 15 makes finding your next favorite site easier and everyday reading smoother.
DISCOVER MORE TO READ
The redesigned Add & Discover Sites lets you swipe between search, popular sites, YouTube, Reddit, newsletters, podcasts, Google News, and web feeds. Preview stories before subscribing, see how recently a site has published, and add it straight to the folder you choose. Related Sites now has the same rich previews and Try and Add controls.
A SMOOTHER READER
Faster story lists, smoother scrolling, and more reliable reading positions help you pick up where you left off. New floating toolbars keep reading controls close at hand, with a preference to place the story-list toolbar at the top or bottom. Redesigned menus make common actions easier to find.
TAKE A CLOSER LOOK
Tap an article image to open the new full-screen viewer. Pinch or double-tap to zoom, then save, copy, or share the image.
BETTER ON IPAD
Try new feeds and open story previews while keeping your three-column reader. Discovery remembers your place when you return. Layout, rotation, and popover improvements make browsing more comfortable.
LESS SPACE, MORE RELIABILITY
Offline storage now keeps recent stories within your chosen limit and reclaims unused space automatically. Deleting offline stories clears cached article content and images and compacts storage more thoroughly. This release also includes fixes for story selection, unread counts, themes, and offline reading.
15.0.0 22 Sept
Added Good Reads alongside Global Shared Stories, Widely Read Stories, and Long Reads.
14.7.2 1 Sept
- Updated Ask AI with Claude Sonnet 5, GPT-5.6 Luna, Gemini 3.6 Flash, and Grok 4.6.
- Fixed story navigation and scrolling reliability.
- Fixed the Interactions activity screen getting stuck while loading.
14.7.1 28 Aug
- Added pull-up navigation: pull up past the last story in a feed to jump straight to the next feed with unread stories. A control fades in as you pull and can also be tapped directly. (iOS)
- Premium custom app icons can now be pinned to their light or dark version instead of always following your system theme.
- Added two trending story sections to the sites list: Widely Read Stories, which collects stories that multiple NewsBlur readers have spent meaningful time reading over the past week, and Long Reads, which ranks stories by average reading time to surface longer, deeper articles.
- Both trending sections can be added to the dashboard as story lists.
- Trained intelligence classifiers apply to trending stories, so title, author, tag, and text training carries through with the usual green and red scoring.
- Added preferences to show or hide Widely Read Stories and Long Reads in the sites list.
- Fixed an iPad issue where rotating back to portrait while reading a story could return you to the site list instead of keeping the story on screen.
14.7.0 16 Jun
- Added a premium app icon chooser on iOS, with 12 color flavors and matching light and dark previews.
- Fixed an iOS orientation issue where returning to portrait while reading a story could take you back to the site list instead of keeping the story open.

- Added author pattern matching to the Intelligence Trainer.
- Fixed the Interactions dialog so Interactions and Your Activities load normally again.
- Fixed story detail author and tag training taps so they cycle through like, dislike, and neutral.

- Fixed cycling through tag and author classifiers in the story detail trainer.
- Fixed OPML export encoding declaration to UTF-8.
14.5.3 27 Apr
Fixes All Site Stories on iPhone and iPad so it once again includes every site you subscribe to, not just the ones inside a folder. If your river looked suspiciously like one of your folders after upgrading to 14.5.1, this is the fix. Also fixes duplicate thumbs-up / thumbs-down icons appearing next to classifier highlights in the story text view.
14.5.2 17 Apr
Fixed a bug where "All Site Stories" could show different stories depending on which feeds were visible in the sidebar. The story list now reliably includes all feeds with unread stories, regardless of scroll position or collapsed folders.
14.5.1 16 Apr
Story clustering controls - New preference to choose between title-match-only clusters and title-plus-related clusters. Each clustered story now shows a color-coded tier badge so you can see why it was grouped.
14.5 12 Apr

14.4.1 9 Apr
Story Clustering: When multiple sites cover the same story, NewsBlur now groups them together. Clustered stories appear inline beneath the original, showing the feed icon, title, thumbnail, and how long ago it was published. Tap any cluster to jump straight to that version. Premium Archive subscribers see all clusters; free users see the top match.
Daily Briefing: A new Daily Briefing appears at the top of your feed list, surfacing the most important stories from your subscriptions. Sections are collapsible so you can focus on what matters.
Super Dislike Classifier: The intelligence trainer now supports super dislike, a stronger signal that overrides thumbs up matches. Long press the dislike button in any classifier pill to activate it.
iPad Improvements: Swipe from the left edge to reveal the feed list on iPad. Fixed a duplicate fullscreen button and improved sidebar state sync.
Visual Polish: Refined the sepia theme with a darker story separator and improved story header gradient. Increased score indicator opacity on read stories. Removed extra borders from story cells and cluster rows for a cleaner look.
