Introducing MezziCoin — A Location-Based Digital Network
Discover, explore and collect digital collectibles connected to real-world places.
MezziCoin is a new concept in digital collecting, connecting digital collectibles with real-world geographic locations. Each MezziCoin is a GeoCoin, a digital collectible associated with a unique nine-square-metre area of land in the physical world.By connecting MezziCoins to specific geographic locations, MezziCoin creates a digital network mapped onto real places around the world.
MezziCoins are free to collect and are not a currency. They cannot be used as money or as a payment method.
Create New MezziCoins Through Location Activity
MezziCoin allows members to contribute to the growth of the geographic network through location activity. Enable location reporting and the app can record qualifying location activity in the background as you move through the real world. When you create 125 new MezziCoins through qualifying location activity, you are allocated a MezziCoin collection elsewhere in the country where you have been participating. The collection you receive is separate from the individual MezziCoins you helped create. A dedicated screen in the app makes location reporting easy to set up and manage.
Collect MezziCoins with Treasure Hunts
Discover MezziCoins through online and real-world treasure hunts.
Online treasure hunts
Compete with other players by playing simple word games through the app. Winners receive MezziCoin collections.
Real-world treasure hunts
Explore your surroundings and discover collections associated with real-world locations.
Grant the necessary location permissions and, when you reach a designated treasure location, the app can check whether you are at the qualifying location. If you are, you are allocated the collection associated with that area.
Treasure locations are selected to make discovery accessible and enjoyable, with collections associated with real-world places where members can explore.
Collecting Additional MezziCoins
Every registered user receives a unique invite code. When friends, family or others join using your invite code and participate in the MezziCoin network, you can receive additional collections. These collections can appear anywhere in the world, giving you another way to grow your collection while helping the community expand.
A Network Connected to Real-World Places
The MezziCoin network is mapped onto the physical world. Each MezziCoin represents a unique nine-square-metre area of land, connecting digital collecting with real-world geography. As more people participate, explore and report locations, the geographic network can continue to expand. The result is a digital collection system built around real places and the people who explore them.
Current Status
MezziCoin is currently in Phase 1: building the network and distributing collections through community participation.
Collections are currently distributed through location activity, games, referrals and real-world discovery. The current MezziCoin experience is focused on exploration, collecting, games and community participation.
MezziCoins and collections cannot currently be purchased or traded.
