Make your profile stand out with your best pics and a little something about you to increase your match making potential. Swipe Right™ on a profile to Like someone, swipe left to pass. If someone Likes you back, It’s a Match! And, there’s no pressure: We invented the double opt-in which means two people have to show a mutual interest in order for there to be a match. How many dating apps can say that?

Editors’ Choice

More than just a dating app, Tinder has been updated to become one of the most engaging, fun, and social apps around. Of course, finding matches is still a huge highlight—but with smart group chats, an awesome Apple TV app, and Super Likes to go around, we’re swiping right on this one.

Passions don’t feel catered well to matching

I’ve been using Tinder for a bit and I was excited to see the passions functionality. There’s so many to pick but at the same time, so many feel like fluff. Things like walking, tea, coffee, trivia, art or second hand apparel don’t really tell me much about the profile I’m looking at. I wish they were more specific to the person and better for finding good matches; how much do I really have in common with someone if we both selected coffee as a passion?

Some ideas I’d like to see in the passions. Maybe have tags for religions (Christian, Atheist, Muslim, etc.). Change second hand apparel to antiquing and/or thrifting, since these sound more hobby-based. I’m actually surprised there’s no tag for anime or sitcoms; things like this would serve better than having Netflix as a tag. I like the idea of having the political tags but they’re very specific, maybe replace a chunk of them with the generic liberal, conservative and moderate. LGBTQ is on there twice, I don’t think adding ‘rights’ to one makes them any less interchangeable, instead one could by LGBTQ ally or something like that. I think more games would be helpful beyond board games and gamer (card games, DnD, Nintendo, Pokémon etc.) The music is only split into Country and ‘Music’, maybe add more like Rap, 60s, 80s and Lofi. There are so many sports related tags, I think it’d feel like more variety if more were added or if some were cut back like running, walking, athlete etc.

Paywall complaints are straight up lies

Listen. The app works. If you aren’t getting matches then people just don’t like you. It has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not you pay for an upgraded version.
There’s zero significance in seeing people who liked you, because if you liked someone who likes you back it would be a match. You should not be messaging people unless both you and they have a greed that you are attracted to one another.
I am a generically pretty woman who has never paid for Tinder. In the last two years I have dated four different millionaires that I have met because of tinder. I just deleted the app because I have over 100 messages and match notifications. I have never in my life paid for tinder. I work in digital marketing and I know how to talk to people. I promise the app is fine. It’s the idiots who don’t know how to work para social relationships that are messing it up, not the app.
Now- all that said-i’ve never had an experience with reporting or banning so I cannot speak to that issue. But as far as there being a pay wall? Sweetie you don’t have to pay to see who likes you. If you liked one another it would be a match and you’d be talking. Have some common sense.
