"Tracksport" is an innovative mobile application designed to improve the way long-distance running competitions are monitored and reported. It serves as a crucial tool for personnel stationed at various checkpoints along race routes, enabling them to efficiently record and communicate the progress of competitors in real-time.
Key Features:
Competitor Tracking: Users can swiftly enter the BIB (bibliographic) numbers of competitors as they pass through checkpoints. This action instantly updates the race progress on our central Tracksport server, offering detailed insights into the competition dynamics, such as lead changes and time differentials.
Checkpoint Authentication: Access to the app is checkpoint-specific. Users are required to validate their location via a designated checkpoint code, ensuring accurate and location-relevant data entry. This can be done either by typing in the code or scanning a provided QR code.
Robust Data Entry Options:
Add Bib Number: Captures the competitor's BIB number with the current time as the default timestamp.
Cancel Bib Number: Allows for the correction of erroneous entries.
Custom Time Entry: Enables the input of a specific time for each BIB number, catering to situations where delayed entries occur.
Logout and Data Clearance: Clears the current session data upon logout, ensuring a fresh start for each new login, even at the same checkpoint.
Offline Functionality: Understanding the challenges of internet connectivity in remote race locations, the app is designed to function seamlessly offline. Entries made without an internet connection are marked as "sending" and are automatically transmitted to the server once connectivity is restored.
Archival Access: The app maintains a comprehensive history of past competitions, allowing users to easily browse through previous race data.
Internet Connection Status: Users are kept informed about their internet connectivity status, ensuring they are aware of the app's current operational mode (online/offline).
Tracksport enhances the live reporting aspect of long-distance races, providing a streamlined, user-friendly interface for efficient data entry and management. It complements and extends the functionality of our existing platform, Tracksport.live, by offering a mobile solution tailored to the needs of race officials and volunteers at checkpoints.
