I will echo what’s been said in prior reviews. This solves a real problem for those of us who use Apple Music, but also have quality DACs that we want to feed the best possible data. What this does is allow me to use an old iPhone as my streamer delivering bit-perfect data from Apple Music) and control it from another iPhone, or an iPad, or for me, the AppleTV. And the interface is impeccable. I can do everything in Lysoniq that I routinely do in Apple Music, especially listening to the playlists that Apple creates for me based on my listening. It looks great, it sounds great, it solves a real problem and it’s way more affordable than purchasing an external streamer. For context, I purchased an EverSolo T8. I wanted to love it. It did sound good. But the support for Apple Music was so poor I returned it. The integration between the T8 hardware and the remote control software was so lame, I sent it back. Tim Fagan is the Donald Fagan of app development. Could not be happier (and PS, I never write App Store reviews). Bravo Tim, and thank you.
Great app for Apple Music hi-res audio

Very well implemented functionality to control one Apple device that’s wired to a DAC/amp from another for listening to true hi-res audio. This app replicates Apple Music on two or more devices on the same network, so that while one is hard-wired to an external DAC, it can be fully controlled from a second device. Pay for it once (greatly preferred to a subscription!), install it on two or more devices; set one as your source, and another as a mirrored remote, and what you see on one, the other is actually playing. I have my iPad connected to a DAC/amp through a USB-optical audio adapter, and can control it from across the room from my iPhone. It works flawlessly, doing anything you can do in the Apple Music app without ever leaving the couch once the iPad is plugged in. I’d give it 10 stars if I could. Great job!

I have a deep appreciation for the developer of Lysonic. What they did Apple was unable to do. Not only do I now have a working remote for Apple Music but the music sounds better! The interface is very similar to Apple Music so there is very little learning curve. Lysonic works from my iPhone, iPad and MacBook. Same music plays so it is seamless going from one interface to the other. There are still bugs to work out, some lag, some tracks that will not play but this is a small sacrifice. Apple’s Remote was tragic and getting worse with every system update. So glad to have Lysonic.

I connected the app on both my iPhone and MacBook Air M2. The MacBook Air is connected to a Topping E70 Velvet DAC, which then goes to my preamp and amplifier.The first problem was that the app could connect to both devices, but there was no sound coming from the DAC. I went through all the settings, checked the cables, and did several A/B comparisons. Interestingly, it sometimes worked when the DAC was disconnected from the MacBook.I then tested it without the DAC and used the MacBook's internal speakers instead. A new problem appeared: the app would load a new song, but it wouldn't buffer or play. The playback time would move from 0:00 to 0:01 and then immediately return to 0:00.I've spent about three hours troubleshooting this, checking everything I can think of. At this point, I'm giving up. Unfortunately, the app simply isn't working reliably for me.

- Lysoniq on macOS is now Lysoniq Mac Remote - a clearer name for what it does: browse and control Apple Music, with playback handled by the Music app.
- Classical tracks now show the composer in Now Playing, the queue and the minibar.
Bug fixes:
- The Mac window resizes again.
- Smart playlists available on the Mac again.
- Plays through the Music app via Lysoniq Mac Remote now update play counts correctly.
- Fixed sidebar stalling issue on macOS 27 beta builds.
The Audio Quality (beta) overlay has temporarily been moved to TestFlight only as refinement on this feature continues.
