Peek now reads the UDF file system, so you can browse and extract what a Windows ISO actually contains — including sources/install.wim — instead of just the placeholder readme other tools show. • Split and join WIM images. Turn an install.wim larger than 4 GB into .swm parts you can copy to a FAT32 USB drive, and join them back when you need to. All inside Peek, with no external tools. • Sort by column. Click Name, Size, Compressed or Modified to sort the list, and click again to reverse it. Folders stay on top, the order applies inside every folder too, and your choice is remembered next time you open the app. FASTER • Extraction is up to 13× faster on .tar.gz and .tar.xz archives with many files: the archive is now decompressed in a single pass instead of once per file. • Archives open in the background, so the window no longer locks up while a large one is read. • Previewing large text files no longer freezes the window. • Faster Finder thumbnails for very large archives. BETTER ON SCREEN • Columns adapt to the window width instead of being cut off when the inspector is open. • Folder pickers now appear attached to their own window, so your other Peek windows stay usable. • The file list works with VoiceOver. • When an operation is already running, Peek tells you which one instead of ignoring the click. SAFER • Extraction refuses archives whose entries point outside the destination folder, whether through the path itself or a symbolic link. • Damaged or malformed ISOs can no longer take down previews or thumbnails.

This update brings major workflow improvements for working with compressed files and archives in Peek. • Batch operations: extract, convert, and verify multiple archives in one workflow, with per-item progress, cancellation support, and a final summary of completed and failed items. • Stronger protected archives: newly created password-protected ZIP archives now use AES-256 by default, with a legacy ZipCrypto option available when compatibility with older tools is needed. • Integrity reports: verification results can now be exported as SHA-256 checksum reports, making it easier to document, share, or compare archive contents. • Compression profiles: creation and conversion workflows now include practical compression profiles, so you can choose a better balance between speed and file size. • Additional improvements: refined archive workflows, better progress feedback, and general stability improvements across creation, conversion, verification, and extraction tasks.
