Kept is for the things you would otherwise have to keep in your head.
You say something or type it, and it ends up in the folder you would have picked yourself. There is nothing to set up, there are no tags you need to keep track off. Filing is automatic, and it just works.
Give it a thought, a promise you made, a note about a client, a meeting transcript, or something you need to do. Kept can transcribe what you said, understand what it is, and put it into the right file instead of leaving it buried in another chat, recording, or inbox.
Because Kept can work from the files it has kept for you, you can come back later and ask about them, continue the work, or use that context in a new conversation. So when you want to know about the thing about the roof, or the name of the man who did the gutters, you get it instantly.
Starting is the hardest part of anything, so Kept handles that. It works out the smallest possible next step and removes the friction of taking it. Get started before you even get the chance to think about it. Kept uses several tricks to help you build small habits that keep the bigger things moving. The more you keep it up the easier it becomes, as it adapts based on what is in your vault and puts the habits and tasks most likely to make a difference in front of you.
Kept includes:

Kept is byok and does not include a hosted AI service. AI chat and AI-assisted routing use the provider you configure, and that provider’s separate terms and charges may apply.

Kept 1.0.1 introduces a global panel for capturing ideas and recalling saved snippets from anywhere on your Mac. Press Option-Shift-Space to capture text, voice, images, or files, browse snippets by folder, and use Command-1 through Command-9 for quick access. Dashboard actions now make it faster to add tasks, write journal entries, run Recap, and use commands configured in your vault. Improved context handling. Lily can also receive an optional daily treat: view a short message from a sponsor and she wears a bow for the day that looks really cute on her. This release also includes routing, attachment, packaging, and reliability improvements.
