Capable of handling professional consulting with multiple clients and agencies--simple enough for fill-in shift work, or any situation that is hard to schedule. Rapidly record activity start time, category, and code for minimum-effort, accurate timesheets that can be emailed. Default setup can be used as-is; change for more complex usage is easy. Enter any category or code as you need it; next time it will be in the drop-down list. Soon you will be switching almost all your activities with a single tap. There is no need to edit a setup unless you want to rename a category or code, or filter categories or codes from timesheets. PDF user guide (20+ pages) is available from the application website (link below and in the app's setup view).

I can't find instructions on how it works, or how to modify the default settings.

Can't clear preloaded history

At least for the free version, Activitap comes with a pre-loaded history - over a year - as if the developer used this app for his work and then did not clear the log before uploading it to the app store. While this does show how the app works, actual usage is severly limited without buying a 'new configuration'. Categories cannot be added, only modified, and the app is limited to four categories. I was able to find instruction pdfs on their website, but was unable to find how to clear the history or otherwise reset the app so that I could evaluate it using my own settings.This is not simply a limited version of the full app, this is a hobbled copy of the developer's version.

New categories are created automatically by modifying whatever category an item has. 5. There is no limit to the number of categories. 6. Configuration (now called Setup) is fully modifiable. 7. Multiple setups no longer require purchase of an upgrade.

But quickly let's you log hours real time or after the fact. No other features in this one.

Synced entry from multiple devices. Simplified user interface for setup. Entries no longer track time zone--only dealt with in timesheet presentation setup. Multiple named setups, code mapping, modifying time zone: no longer require in-app purchase.
