My wife and I bought a yearly Surfshark VPN subscription several months ago and installed it on our eight personal Mac devices. We switched from another more expensive but reliably working VPN provider that we had for years; we switched based on the high reviews here. BAD DECISION! Sometimes the Surfshark VPN works well, but other times without warning, stops our MacBook Pros, iPads, and Iphones from working….not at the same time, but erratically. The VPN inexplicably stops opening websites, tabs, and even iPhone telephone calls in and out. Yesterday it blocked several incoming important doctor telephone calls on my iPhone. We have tried changing Surfshark VPN location sites with some temporary short lived successes, but the problem seems to occur at all locations. Pausing or disconnecting the VPN immediately stops the problem for that device, but as another reviewer said “What’s the Point” of using the Surfshark VPN when you have to turn it off to get your computer, iPad or telephone to work. This completely defeats the purpose of a VPN. No doubt we will lose the rest of the subscription cost, but we will go back to our old reliable trusty VPN, which is also available in the Mac App Store.
