My needs are admitedly simple, as I only have a small handfull of clients to invoice, but I was growing tired of creating invoices by hand and manually tracking what I had been paid for. This is a perfect platform for someone doing freelance contract work for a few clients. Now all of my invoicing activity is in one place, I can see at a glance what has or hasn't been paid, and the dashboard is really great for seeing what I've earned and what I'm owed. The ability to accept electronic payments is just icing on the cake.

Nothing compared to Billings by MarketCircle

Trying to use Zoho Invoice as a replacement for Billing by MarketCircle. After days of research, Zoho Invoice is the best compromise between cost and ability ... but there are ZERO decent replacements for Billings.These trash apps are "cloud only" via a web browser (stoopid, lazy, and not safe), subscription-based with tiers and significant missing tools/abilities that are ONLY available at the very expensive top tiers, and are NOT truly meant for freelance artists. They are hacked up versions of "accounting" software ... just like Zoho Invoice, that just happen to have a timer added.MarketCircle has stopped ALL development of Billings, made billings cloud-based only, and refuse to provide any help ... even though they are still charging you for using the (cloud) app.Tired of getting screwed with unsafe, cloud-based, subscription-only, useless garbage.----UPDATE: Developer says that they'd like to "reach out." Sorry, but you're not going to target me. You have my data in your Cloud. Why would I risk my data?UPDATE: Developer wants to know the features that I'm looking for. Obviously, like so many developers, they cannot read what I wrote. I'M LOOKING FOR A REPLACEMENT FOR MARKETCIRCLE'S BILLINGS SOFTWARE ... THEREFORE, I'D LIKE FEATURES LIKE MARKETCIRCLE'S BILLINGS SOFTWARE. The developers aren't real bright, are they?

Great - Just wish they would fix the timer

I really like all the great free features that are available for organizing invoices and expenses here. There is no better free option I have found.Unfortunately, the timer in the software seems to be setup more for people (or at very least designed by) waged employees or teams who clock in and out once per day. This is because the timer disregards any clocked time less than :59 seconds. So if you clock in/out multiple times per day, each time you do, the software just trashes up to 1 minute of your billed hours. I calculated I would lose about 300$ per year on average by switching (I clock in/out about 5 times each day). They seem aware of the issue but I think freelancers are not their target audience for this software.

I cannot sing high enough praises for Zoho! I am an independent contractor who provides service hours and drives quite a bit. This app makes keeping track of customers, invoices, balances, mileage, and literally any other back end information I need a total breeze. I could not think of a better tool. They even have a choice of payment platforms for customers. If you are an independent contractor or small business owner - you need Zoho.
