Description

Walken is a Web3 walking app that gamifies daily physical activity (walking and running) and makes sticking to a healthier lifestyle easy and fun. Grab your CAThlete - an in-game character - and go for a walk together. The more steps you take, the faster your characters make it to the next level.
HealthKit is used to synchronize with Apple Health and Activity, so that Walken can import step count data and distance.

App about steps but not

Everyday is a gamble: what amount of my steps is taken into consideration. The thing is I do not use my phone all that often, I tend not to take it with me, or leave it be somewhere near - I use a band to count steps. HealthKit sees my steps, but Walken doesn’t, it cuts the steps in three and even than doesn’t validate all of them. Kind of frustrating. All the time.

Now they ask you to create account or lose your progress for a year

1) Current update claims it fixed the launch screen freezing bug, no, it didn’t.

2) Now they force you to create an account - will I start from scratch or my progress somehow will link to this new account? I have no idea. No communication given. Maybe it’s better not to do anything. Sad to realize you were fool and didn’t foresee they would change the rules and after almost a year of daily activities you are left with zero. I wouldn’t start over again because in the hindsight I consider it pure waste of time - checking the app several times a day, very slow progress (do you remember Achievement app - this one is even slower) unless you put money in - than it diverts the whole purpose, right?:) coin worths nothing, it’s a 100% pay to win scheme. Thank you, kids, without me, please.

3) positive reviews are fake. Real people don’t write like this. It’s ridiculous how many recent positive reviews use keywords “reliable software” because the mass concern is that the app is unreliable, clowns 🤡

New Cathletics Feature Ruined Game For Me.

The new Cathletics feature made the game unplayable for me. It costs 5 coins to join in, but I can’t ever win 5 or more coins back. I was totally Free to Play. Upgraded my one cathete to a true NFT. Now I can no longer earn coins in the game except through the Walken Runner app. Disappointing change, the new Cathletics feature. I barely open the game at all, now.

The game really doesn’t incentivize walking. The blue coins earned by walking can’t be used anywhere except upgrading Cathlete levels, which also costs the yellow coins which I can no longer earn. I have more than 1,000 blue coins with nothing to spend them on.
