Thank you so much for the positive feedback!
app loads very slow. data constantly missing or not showing up. radar is constantly not available. very few instructions are available For the high annual fee , all be of the above should be working
Developer Response Thank you for your feedback and I’m sorry to hear about your experience. Many improvements over the past two months have been made around performance. Additionally, missing radar data has been fixed. Lastly, in an update being released over the next few days, I’ve worked on creating a help guide (located in Settings tab) that outlines how to use various features of the app. I will continue adding tips and help content to make the app easier to understand and use. Your feedback matters and is exactly what i need from users, especially since this is a one-person company. I hope you give WeatherAI another chance in the future! - Tim

- Your subscription helps fund this data and helps me to explore investing in more radar layers, including professional radar
Custom Notifications:
- You can now receive notifications for various weather data points for your current location or custom locations (requires standard or pro subscription)
US Lightning Data via GLM on Radar:
- Radar can now show recent lightning flashes from GOES satellites. Note: pro subscription is required.

- Charts! You can open charts at the bottom of the "Current Details" card on the Home Screen. This is something I really wanted to use from the app, so I hope you enjoy it as well
- Added various uses of AI—such as summaries for daily weather details views, ability to generate content around volcanoes, and decode METARs/TAFs—all on-device using Apple Intelligence!
- This means you'll need to be on iOS/iPadOS 26 with Apple Intelligence enabled on your device
Special note:
Sadly, the current weather radar provider (Rainviewer) has decided they are going to discontinue their service to the public. I'm very thankful for how generous they've been with their public API and wish them the best! The new provider I'm using is not the cheapest but offers professional and high-quality radar imagery. Anyways, expect more advancements in radar. But if you choose to subscribe, know that it'll be going to a better radar and forecasting accuracy.

- Currently limited to 25 miles around the selected location

- Improved UI/UX overall for the app to provide a better experience and polish

Special note:
Sadly, the current weather radar provider (Rainviewer) has decided they are going to discontinue their service to the public. I'm very thankful for how generous they've been with their public API and wish them the best! This means I am looking into alternate solutions, including processing raw radar data as well. The solution I'm leaning into using is not the cheapest but offers professional and high-quality radar imagery. So, thank you to those that choose to subscribe to help make this happen! Part of the reason why I chose to build this app is because of the paywalling behind subscriptions that weather apps tend to do. Instead, I want to paywall only for the things where data is not cheap to retrieve/process but to also provide truly unique experiences (AI/LLM) that I personally believe will help benefit the meteorology community and enthusiasts. Anyways, more on that later. But if you choose to subscribe, know that it'll be going to a better radar experience that will be coming in the near future :)

- Fixes an issue where current location may not always be used when loading the app
Recent changes:
- Fixes an issue with the MRMS model in chat.
- You can now search for search all available METAR stations
- Chat can now generate reflectivity or velocity radar images for NEXRAD sites!
- More UI tweaks
- Chat is much smarter. Previously, chat wasn't able to follow previous messages in context very well. This has been fixed! This should make the conversation flow much better as chat can better follow along previous messages.
- Earthquakes layer on the radar screen will now use the earthquake data source you have set in settings (i.e. will use EMSC if set and not always only use USGS)
- Added TAFs to the METARs home card and added ability to retrieve them in Chat.
- Chat can now enable/disable specific notifications types (i.e. weather alerts, earthquakes)!
- Note: this requires the app to have notifications permissions enabled.
- Made some UI tweaks and made things a bit more consistent.
- Fixes an issue for users with location always authorized where loading the app may have led to an endless loading spinner

Severe weather, now front and center — plus deeper integration across iOS.
Severe Weather Live Activities
Active warnings now appear on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, with a live countdown until the warning expires. Supports tornado, severe thunderstorm, flash flood, hurricane, and tsunami warnings. Tap to jump straight to the alert. US only for now. Toggle in Settings, Notifications, Live Activities.
Saved Locations Throughout iOS
Your saved locations are now first-class citizens across iOS. Ask Siri "What's the weather in [saved location]" or "Show radar for [saved location]," and find them in Spotlight too.
Radar Control Widget
A new Radar control for Control Center, the Lock Screen, and the Action Button. One tap takes you straight to the radar map.
Richer Siri and Shortcuts Snippets
Siri now returns the condition icon, temperature, feels-like, humidity, and wind alongside the spoken response.
Animated Home Screen Hero
A layered, condition-aware sky at the top of the home screen that adapts to time of day, current weather, and active alert severity.
Subtle ambient particles for rain, snow, fog, sun rays, and thunder. Prefer the original look? There's a "Use classic home background" toggle in Customize Home Screen.
Faster, Smoother List Views
Nearby METARs, TAFs, tide stations, storm reports, and wildfires now load in pages, first results appear quickly and more load as you scroll.
Dynamic Radar Legends
Radar legends now update automatically when products are tweaked, so the colors you see always match the legend. No app update required.
Polished Detail Rows
Air quality, earthquakes, METARs and TAFs, tides, storm reports, and wildfire rows have been reworked for better readability and a more consistent look.
NWS Card Improvements
Stale observations now show their age, plus general improvements to NWS data loading.
Plus various performance and stability improvements under the hood. Thanks for using WeatherAI!
