Every target prints on standard letter paper from any printer. A QR code and corner markers let the camera work out scale and angle by itself, so hits are measured against the paper rather than estimated. I’ve been really happy - and having fun - with Peregrine: Dry Fire Trainer. There are plenty of options for setup, scoring, timing, etc. yet it never feels overwhelming or burdensome to tailor your preferences. The interface is clean, intuitive, and easy to navigate. Getting set up (including printing the provided targets) is quick and straightforward. Shot detection and tracking seem remarkably accurate, which makes practicing much more useful and enjoyable. There’s also a good variety of exercises and drills, so you can work on different skills without the practice sessions becoming repetitive. Drift diagnostics is very cool, and in my case revealed - among other things - that often I had “too much trigger finger”.Peregrine is a well-designed, easy-to-use dry fire training app that does exactly what you want it to do. Highly recommended!

I use Peregrine with my daughter for biathlon dry fire. A cheap laser bore sight in her Anschutz, an iPhone, and a paper target -- about $100 all in. I’ve never used SCATT, so I can’t compare features. But knowing what it costs, this was a no-brainer.The paper target is the clever part. It sounds like a limitation. It isn’t. It makes the whole system easy to extend, and I’ve even been able to modify targets to fit our basement setup. She runs her full mat procedure around each mag and checks her shots on the phone afterward.And the developer? Responsive every time I’ve reached out.
