Paddle Logger Pro is offered on a Monthly or Annual subscription with payments charged to your iTunes account at the confirmation of purchase.†
(We recommend purchasing a quality waterproof case so you do not end up damaging your phone)
NB: remember - while we have tried our utmost to allow great battery life with the app running (we have regularly managed 8hrs+ paddle time) continued use of GPS in the background can dramatically decrease battery life of both the Apple Watch and iPhone!
† Payment will be automatically charged to your iTunes account at the confirmation of purchase. The subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current charging period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. Auto-renewal may be turned off by the user by visiting Account Settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when a purchase to a subscription occurs, where applicable. www.paddlelogger.com/s/terms
This month we've added support for splits in the map. This is just the beginning of a future set of functions that will make it a bunch easier to visualise your performance.
We've made the app a bit smaller so it's quicker to download.
We've improved the haptic feedback on the new watch app.
We have also completed a number of small bug fixes.
Congratulations to this month's Paddle Club Photo Competition winner Ray Hubbard!

Ratings and Reviews
I am a hobby paddler in Oahu and was looking for something to track my workouts. After looking around, PaddleLogger was everything I was looking for and more! As a personal rule I look for free services because paying for apps has always seemed to me a waste of money but after having (and enjoying) the free version of PaddleLogger I went ahead and bought the upgrade to unlock my speed data and I could not be happier! Plus the option to notify contacts is a huge bonus. Both my parents and my boyfriend have reiterated what a huge relief it is to them to be able to see where I am when I one-man alone. Also the clarity of the map and general ease of use of the app is wonderful. Last, they are fast in replying to my questions about the app. Highly recommend this tool!

Thanks so much for your review, it made our day! 🙂
I have been using Paddle Logger for some time. It has issues but all-in-all it was a good app ... until a few days ago. I was on the water and ready to take off. I hit Start. A message came up to enter a PiT contact. There was no way to bypass or delay this requirement! I tried going back to start several times. The message kept coming up. It would not let me proceed without filling out a PiT contact. I did not have my reading glasses so I couldn’t have filled out the PiT contact even if I wanted to! I could not use the app that day! I had an app I use for walking so I changed to that app and was able to record the data; otherwise I would have lost the data for that day. I am so appalled by this requirement to fill in data before I could continue to use the app on so many levels that it’s hard to know where to start, so I’ll simply end. I will not be using this app again. I also would caution anyone considering buying this app that unless you don’t mind mandatory, intrusive and unwarranted data collection in an app you are charged for, you are better off using another of the exercise apps. Several that are designed for bicycling or walking can also be used for paddling and rowing.

Hi again, thanks for getting in contact. I wanted to explain a few things regarding PiT. Paddler in Trouble is a safety service that sends a message to a contact on your behalf should you get into difficulty on the water. It is not mandatory. It is part of our Pro package and you are able to turn it off on the home page of the app if it is a service you do not wish to use. The bar above the taskbar at the bottom of the screen on the start page is the PiT bar. The left hand toggle says Off. Just make sure it is set to off and you will be good to go. With it switched off, you will not be asked to enter details as it requires at least one designated emergency contact. If you have a concern. I will though reiterate we have no interest in your personal details, numbers are anonymous and automated in a way we are unable to access them. I hope that alays any fears, do get in touch if you have any other queries, thanks, David
Hi Capt M14, Love your suggestions. That is something we could do to improve the image taking capability of the app. Especially for wildlife spotting! Regarding the pause issue, get that it may be better to have a hold to pause. When you say that you may have knocked it, do remember that the app will still track when the screen is locked - which will mitigate any accidental pausing. Please do keep an eye out for your suggestions in the future!! Cheers, David
The logging features of this app are excellent. If you want to turn on the app and stick your phone in a dry box then it is perfect. It even gives you the ability to set a delay so that you have time to stow everything, get in the kayak and then start logging after a set time period. For that Part of the functionality I give the app 5 stars.
What I’m disappointed in is the Apple Watch functionality. It still works for logging, but the display gives you very little information. The great thing about the Apple Watch is being able to see data on your wrist as you paddle. I want to be able to at least see Distance, Duration, Speed and Heart Rate.
The only thing you can see while paddling with this app is distance and duration. If the developers could add some more data fields (preferably user selectable) and access to control your music from in-app then it would be easy to rate this a 5 star app.

This is fantastic feedback. Thank you very much. We are currently building out this aspect of the functionality to get more data in front of people if they would like to see it. This will form part of a wider update to the Paddle Logger system. Hopefully fulfilling and allowing you to see what you want and hide what you don't! Thanks!
