Turn your walks, runs, and rides into a beautiful hex map. Explore cities, compete on leaderboards, and discover the world one hexagon at a time.
Ato turns your everyday adventures into a lifetime exploration map. The Earth is divided into 4,842,432,842 hexagonal tiles, and your mission is to discover as many as you can. Every walk, run, bike ride, and wandering detour fills in your personal world map. You'll see exactly where you've been, and where explorers around the world have been too. It's part personal diary, part global discovery project.
Your past adventures, rediscovered
Already have years of walks and trips behind you? Import your workout history from Apple Watch and pull location data from your photo library. Watch your map light up with hexes from places you'd almost forgotten about.
Record your future journeys
Sync new workouts automatically, import photos as you take them, or tap to check in wherever you are. Each hex can only be checked into once per day, so every visit counts. Whether it's your morning commute or a trip across the world, your journey is being recorded.
Explore the world together
See where explorers around the globe have been on the shared world map. Filter by everyone or just your mutuals to see where friends have roamed. Follow other explorers to keep up with their adventures, or keep your profile private so only approved followers can see your detailed stats. Browse profiles to find inspiration for new places to visit, and discover corners of the world you never knew existed. Every hex you explore contributes to a collective picture of human adventure.
Discover heatmaps
See your exploration patterns come alive with personal heatmaps that highlight your most-visited areas in warm gradients. Switch to global heatmaps to discover the world's most popular exploration spots and find new places to visit.
Find your missing hexes
Tap any city to see which hexes you've explored and which ones remain undiscovered. City Explorer shows hexes that other explorers have found but you haven't visited yet—and reminds you that more hexes may be waiting to be discovered for the first time. Plan your routes to fill in the gaps and complete neighborhoods, cities, or entire countries.
Compete on leaderboards
Check the global leaderboards to see how your discoveries stack up, or dive into city-specific rankings to find out who's explored your hometown the most. Watch your rank climb as you explore more.
Stay connected
Get notified when someone follows you. See what your mutual friends are exploring with the dedicated mutuals filter. Tap any hex to see who discovered it first, who visited most recently, and browse the full list of explorers.
Your data, your control
Made a GPS error or synced something you shouldn't have? Mark any hex, day, or city as incorrect data to remove it from your stats. Want privacy on a specific location? Set any hex to incognito mode so you appear anonymous to other explorers while keeping your personal stats intact.
Share your adventures
Create beautiful shareable cards to show off your explorations. Whether it's a single day trip or your all-time stats, share your journey with friends and inspire others to get out and explore.
