Plug in and tap
Insert a USB-C SSD or connect to a NAS on the same Wi-Fi, then tap Start Backup. The first run creates a folder dedicated to this iPhone.
Only the difference is copied
After the first backup, only new photos and videos are transferred. Even a library of tens of thousands of items finishes a daily backup in minutes.
Files stay untouched
HEIC, HEVC, RAW, Live Photos, and unedited originals are copied as they are, with capture date, location, and camera model intact. They open as ordinary files on a Mac or PC.
Verified after every copy
Each file is checked by size and SHA-256 hash before it counts as done. Verify Backup lets you confirm at any time that the files on your storage are still intact.
Browse like the Photos app
View the photos on your storage in a familiar grid, grouped by month, with pinch to change density, video playback, and capture details.
Restore to iPhone
Pick photos and tap Restore to iPhone to put them back in your photo library, including their edits.
USB storage and NAS
Works with USB-C SSDs, flash drives, and SD card readers (APFS, exFAT, FAT32), and with SMB shares on a NAS. Keeping the same photos on two storages is easy.
Several iPhones, and a new one
Share one storage among the iPhones in your family. When you switch phones, take over the old phone’s backup from the new one.
Designed to fail safe
Runs out of space? It stops before copying. Battery low? No new transfers start. Half-written files are cleaned up on the next run.
Notifications and reminders
Local notifications tell you when a backup finishes and remind you when it has been a while.

Choosing and deleting photos is the job of our companion app, RollCheck. With both apps installed, RollCheck warns you when you are about to delete photos that BackupCheck has not backed up yet, and lets you take them out of the deletion with one tap.
Back up, check, then delete, and free up space on your iPhone with confidence. BackupCheck itself has no delete function, so it can never remove a photo.
■ Privacy
Your photos and personal data are never sent to the developer’s servers. Photos are saved only to storage you own. No ads, no tracking, no analytics.

・USB-C storage requires an iPhone with a USB-C port (iPhone 15 or later) or an iPad. Works on iPhone and iPad.
・Bus-powered hard drives may need a powered hub.
・NAS requires an SMB 2 or later share.
・This app does not select or delete photos (RollCheck does).
