Checkpoint QC answers one question: does this file actually meet the spec you were given? Point it at a master and it reads the real file — codec, resolution, frame rate, chroma, bit depth, colour tags, timecode, audio layout, loudness — and checks every value against the delivery specification you picked. Rules pass, fail, or are flagged for manual review. Nothing is guessed. Where a specification is genuinely ambiguous, the app says so instead of inventing a tolerance. WHAT IT CHECKS • Video — codec and profile, raster, frame rate, scan type, chroma subsampling, bit depth, colour primaries, transfer characteristics, matrix • Audio — channel count and layout, sample rate, bit depth, codec • Loudness — integrated loudness, loudness range and true peak to ITU-R BS.1770-4 / EBU R 128, measured from the actual audio, not read from metadata • Content — black frames and freeze detection • Packages — DCP and IMF, including the asset map, packing list and composition playlist • Naming and timecode — start timecode, drop frame, file naming patterns Audio-only deliverables are first class: radio, podcast masters, Atmos BWF ADM, audio description and dubbing stems all check cleanly with no video track. Also fixes an in-app purchase issue where the optional Spec Updates subscription could be bought without Full Unlock, which added nothing on its own.
